ZMD ZSSC3122 cLite Low Voltage Capacitive Sensor Signal Conditioner

ZMD introduced their ZSSC3122 cLite low voltage capacitive sensor signal conditioner (SSC). The ZSSC3122 can be configured to interface with capacitive sensors from 2 to 10 pF with sensitivity as low as 125 atto-Farads (aF) per digital bit. The ZSSC3122 cLite features 4-bit resolution, 0.25% full-scale output accuracy, and built-in sleep mode. The device is ideal for low-power battery applications and industrial and rugged environments. ZMD ZSSC3122 samples are available now. Unit prices start at 3.30 EUR ($4.54 USD) in volumes of 1k devices.

ZMD ZIOL2201 Line Driver and Level Shifter IC

ZMD introduced the ZIOL2201 line driver and level shifter IC. The ZMD ZIOL2201 features high-voltage I/O channel, integrated DC/DC converter, IO-Link communication standard support, operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C, and 4mm x 4mm QFN24 package. The output driver is a push pull stage that reaches an RDSon of less than 6.6 Ohms. The IC is ideal for sensors and actuators used in the harsh environment of automation applications. Samples of the ZIOL2201 are available now. Prices start at EUR 2.62 (volumes of 1000 devices).

ZMD ZIOL2211 High Voltage Line Driver

ZMD introduced the ZIOL2211 line driver and level shifter IC. The ZIOL2211 features a high-voltage I/O channel that meets the physical layer requirements of sensor and actuator systems used in factory automation applications. The operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C. The high-voltage line driver comes in a space-saving 4mm x 4mm QFN24 package. An exposed die paddle ensures optimum heat distribution. Unit prices start at EUR 2.11 and USD 2.85, in volumes of 1000 devices. The ZIOL2211 is scheduled for volume production in Q1 2011. Samples will be available in January 2011. The ZMDI ZIOL2211 is ideal for all kinds of sensors and actuators used in the harsh environment of factory automation applications.

ZMD ZLED7012 and ZLED7022 LED Control ICs

ZMDI announced the ZLED7012 and ZLED7022 LED control ICs. The ZLED7012 and ZLED7022 feature low-noise, constant-frequency charge pump DC/DC converters that can efficiently drive up to four (ZLED7012) or six (ZLED7022) strings of LEDs. The ZLED7012 and ZLED7022 come in a 12-pin UTQFN package (2mm x 2mm). The ZLED7012 is priced at €0.32 and the ZLED7022 is priced at €0.39. Both parts are available in mass production now. Full application kits, application notes, and an evaluation board are also available now.

ZMDI ZSSC3017 Sensor Signal Conditioning Integrated Circuit

ZMDI announced the ZSSC3017 16-bit sensor signal conditioning IC (SSC). The ZMDI ZSSC3017 features high accuracy amplification, 16-bit precision analog-to-digital conversion, and an 18-bit DSP for linearization and calibration functions. The CMOS device is ideal for altimeter/barometer systems, data merging with GPS receivers, medical gas and infusion pumps, and robotics. The ZSSC3017 is available as die for wafer bonding or in a TSSOP14 package. Packaged parts are priced at 1.13 Euro / 1.59 US$ in volumes of 10k. Samples and wafer material are available now.

ZMDI SARah ZADC510x and ZADC512x Analog Digital Converters

ZMDI announced 12 new members of their SARah converter family. The ZADC510x and ZADC512x A/D-converters have a dual-core and operate with sampling rates of up to 1MSample/s. The SARah family’s 10/12-bit dual-core ADCs for high-speed applications are sampling now and will be available in production volumes at the end of this quarter. They will be offered in an SSOP package and suitable for operation at temperatures of -25 to +85°C. Approximate unit prices range from Euro 2.00 to Euro 5.00 and US $2.80 to $7, depending on the model, based on unit quantities of 1,000.

ZMDI ZSSC3053 Differential Sensor Signal Conditioner

ZMDI announced the ZSSC3053, which is a pure differential sensor signal conditioner (SSC) for high-accuracy amplification and sensor-specific correction of millivolt-level DC sensor signals. According to ZMDI, the ZSSC3053 offers the highest sensor accuracy at low cost. The chip is adjustable to nearly all resistive bridge sensor types. It is ideal for microcontroller-based sensor systems in industrial, medical, consumer and white goods applications for measuring pressure, temperature, linear position, force and load.
