Acromag introduced the APCe8675 carrier card. The APCe8675 enables a PC to communicate with an XMC mezzanine module over a PCI Express (PCIe) bus. The Acromag carrier card is a simple and cost-effective solution for test advanced systems for defense and aerospace applications that will be deployed later on rugged embedded computer platforms such as VME, VPX, or CompactPCI. Pricing for the standard APCe8675 model starts at $700.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduces the SPR507B, which is a 4-Channel serial FPDP interface PMC/XMC module. The GE SPR507B features a Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA, up to 4.25 Gbaud per link, four ports (1.4 Gigabytes/second), and 1 GByte of high speed on-board storage (FIFO). The board is designed for high-speed remote data transfer at the industry’s fastest rates. It is ideal for applications where the input from multiple sensors, such as in radar or sonar, is to be gathered for back-end processing.
Acromag introduced the VPX4810 3U VPX carrier cards for interfacing a PMC or XMC module to a VPX computer system. The VPX4810 boards route power and interface bus signals to a plug-in mezzanine module through the VPX card slot connector. The VPX4810 features an 8-lane PCIe bus Gen 2 interface that enables rapid data throughput. The air-cooled model (0 to 70°C range) carrier cards is available for $1600. Conduction-cooled and REDI versions are also available. The Acromag VPX4810 3U VPX carrier cards are ideal for high-performance industrial, defense, scientific research, and telephony systems requiring high-speed I/O.
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) introduced the XChange1200 air-cooled, 3U CompactPCI (cPCI) XMC/PMC carrier card. The XChange1200 features a XMC/PMC site, x1 PCI Express XMC interface, 32-bit 66-MHz PCI PMC interface, and I/O routing from the PMC P14 connector to the cPCI backplane P2 connector. Additional processing or I/O capability can be integrated into a 3U cPCI system by mounting a PMC, PrPMC, or XMC mezzanine module on the XChange1200.
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) introduced the XPort3300 XMC Module. The conduction- or air-cooled XPort3300 features dual 10 Gigabit and x8 PCI Express 2.0 port. Front panel I/O for the 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces can be provided with either dual optical SFP+ fiber optic connectors or a single RJ-45 10GBASE-T connector. The XPort3300 also supports rear 10GBASE-T I/O through the P16 connector, and utilizes X12d I/O mapping per VITA 46.9. The XPort3300 supports automatic negotiation down to 1000BASE-T if the 10GBASE-T port is connected to a Gigabit Ethernet device.
