GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the XVR16 6U VME rugged single board computer. The XVR16 SBC is based on the quad-core 4th generation Intel Core i7 architecture (Haswell). The GE XVR16 single board computer is available in five build versions from air-cooled to fully rugged. The SBC is ideal for ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), sonar and radar applications.
Acromag introduced the APCe8675 carrier card. The APCe8675 enables a PC to communicate with an XMC mezzanine module over a PCI Express (PCIe) bus. The Acromag carrier card is a simple and cost-effective solution for test advanced systems for defense and aerospace applications that will be deployed later on rugged embedded computer platforms such as VME, VPX, or CompactPCI. Pricing for the standard APCe8675 model starts at $700.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced their SBC625, XVR15 and XCR15 single board computers. The SBC625, XCR15 and XVR15 SBCs are designed for 6U VPX, CompactPCI and VME systems respectively. They are available in five build levels, from benign (air cooled) to fully rugged (conduction cooled). The new GE single board computers are ideal for applications like command/control, ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance), radar/sonar and signal processing.
Emerson Network Power introduced their new MVME8100 VME/VXS single board computer. The Emerson MVME8100 SBC features the Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor, up to 8GB high speed DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory, 8GB eMMC NAND Flash, and 512KB of non volatile F-RAM. The MVME8100 VME board supports Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY. The Emerson Network Power MVME8100 is ideal for critical data storage, data logs, dynamic program updates, and dynamic security.
Kontron introduced their chassis monitoring board (CMB). The Kontron CMB centralizes out-of-band monitoring and management of installed boards and system parameters (temperature, airflow and power supply) in mission-critical COTS systems. The chassis monitoring board features an integrated microcontroller running a multi-threaded monitoring application on the Freescale MQX real-time OS. The Kontron CMB is available now as a board or as an option in Kontron’s preconfigured VME and VPX development platforms.
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) introduced the XCalibur1700 6U CompactPCI SBC, the XCalibur1730 VME SBC, and the XCalibur1740 6U VPX SBC. The new single board computers are based on the Freescale QorIQ P2020 processor. X-ES offers all P2020-based products in both air-cooled, commercial (0 to 55 °C) to rugged, conduction-cooled (-40 to +85 °C) versions with appropriate shock and vibration testing. They are ideal for commercial, industrial, and military applications.
Kontron introduced the VM6050 6U VME single board computer. The Kontron VM6050 SBC features an Intel Core i7 processor, Intel QM 57 controller hub, up to 8 GByte of soldered ECC memory, and on-board USB flash support. Dedicated interfaces on the front include dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and serial port (SR-232/422/485). There are 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x SATA II, 2x USB 2.0, PCI Express x4, SRIO, GPIO and 32 I/Os for PMC 1 implemented on the backplane via the PO plug (VITA 31.1).
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the XCR14 6U CompactPCI and XVR14 6U VME single board computers. The new SBCs are based on 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge processors. The XCR14 and XVR14 features four Gigabit Ethernet ports, five USB 2.0 ports, two DVI ports, VGA, audio, two COM ports, and two on-board mezzanine expansion sites (both PCI-X PMC/PCI Express XMC). The rugged single board computers are available in five build levels, including air- and conduction cooled.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the VME-6500 6U VME Multifunction I/O Board. The VME-6500 module features eight analog input channels, eight analog output channels, 16 digital input channels and 16 digital output channels. Analog inputs are software-programmable and analog outputs feature programmable voltage and current rates. Digital input channels are capable of multiple voltages and current ranges, and feature programmable input thresholds and de-bounce times. Digital outputs support high voltage and current drivers, and are protected for short circuit, over current and over temperature conditions.
Emerson Network Power introduced the MVME2500 VMEbus Single Board Computer. The MVME2500 features a dual- or single-core Freescale QorIQ processor (P2020 or P2010), Power Architecture technology, up to 2 GB DDR3 soldered memory, 16 MB SPI boot flash memory, a SDHC socket, 512 KB non-volatile MRAM, SATA port, XMC site, three Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 2.0 port, abd five serial ports. The GE SBC is ideal for applications with tight thermal constraints in industrial automation, medical, and defense/aerospace.
