Microchip Technology introduced the MX1 and MX2 32-bit PIC32 microcontrollers. The low pin count MX1 and MX2 MCUs feature 61 DMIPS performance, up to 32 KB of Flash and 8 KB of SRAM, two I2S interfaces, Microchip’s Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) peripheral, 8-bit Parallel Master Port (PMP) interface, 13-channel Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), USB 2.0, dedicated audio and capacitive-sensing peripherals. The PIC32MX110F016B and PIC32MX220F032 MCUs are available in 28-pin SPDIP, SSOP, SOIC and QFN packages; and in 44-pin QFN, VTLA and TQFP packages. Prices start at $1.58 each, in 10,000-unit quantities. The Microchip microcontrollers are ideal for applications in the consumer, industrial, medical and automotive applications.
Microchip Technology introduced the Epson S1D13517 Graphics Controller PICtail Plus Daughter Board, Graphics Display Truly 7″ 800 x 480 (WVGA) Board, and Graphics Display Truly 5.7″ 640 x 480 (VGA) Board. The Epson-based graphics-controller board is available now for $119.99. The 7″ touch-panel LCD daughter board is available now for $269.99. The 5.7″ touch-panel LCD daughter board will be available in June for $269.99.
Microchip Technology introduced the PIC18F K90 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) family. The PIC18F87K90 MCUs are ideal for home-automation (thermostats, security systems, in-home displays), appliance (coffee makers, ranges, refrigerators), industrial (electronic door locks, metering, HVAC controls), medical (pulse oximeters, glucometers, digital thermometers, portable health-monitoring devices), and automotive (alarm systems, keyless entry, dashboard and center-stack displays) applications. The PIC18F K90 MCUs are available in 64- and 80-pin TQFP and 64-pin QFN packages, with prices starting at $2.42 each in 10,000 unit quantities. Microchip Technology launched the PIC18F K22 8-bit microcontrollers (MCUs). The PIC18F K22 MCUs feature operation from 1.8 to 5.5V, several communication channels, 8 to 128 KB Flash memory, peripherals for mTouch capacitive touch-sensing applications, a 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), multiple PWMs, and additional timers. All of the new MCUs feature nanoWatt XLP technology for eXtreme Low Power operation, with industry-leading sleep currents down to 20 nA.
Microchip Technology introduced the PIC12F182X and PIC16F19XX 8-bit PIC microcontrollers (MCUs). The PIC1XF182X MCUs include dual I2C/SPI interfaces, multiple PWM channels with independent time bases, a Data Signal Modulator, and other peripherals. The PIC16F19XX MCUs provide up to 28 KB of Flash program memory. The on-chip LCD drive supports up to 184 segments and provides a low-power drive mode for increased efficiency. The MCUs also include up to 5 Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) channels with independent time bases for controlling various motor types and peripherals.
