Axiomtek introduced their CEM100 single board computer. The COM Express Type 2 module features either a single core AMD G-Series APU T40R ( 1.0GHz) or a dual core T56N (1.65 GHz). The CEM100 includes the A55E FCH chipset, two DDR3 1066 MHz SO-DIMM slots (up to 8 GB of system memory), four SATA ports (RAID 0, 1, 10, 5), and an integrated Radeon HD 6250/6320 graphics controller. The Axiomtek CEM100 SBC is available now. The low-power board is ideal for retail, medical, gaming, and digital signage applications.

Kontron COM Express compact Computer-on-Modules COMe-cOH2

Kontron introduced the COMe-cOH2 COM Express compact Computer-on-Modules, which are based on the COM Express type 2 pin-out. The COMe-cOH2 modules are based on the energy efficient AMD Embedded G-Series accelerated processing units (APUs). There are two Kontron COMe-cOH2 variants: COMe-cOH2 T44R and COMe-cOH2 T56N. The COMe-cOH2 T44R features the 1.2 GHz AMD T44R single-core APU, 512 kb cache and AMD Radeon HD6250 GPU. The COMe-cOH2 T56N features the 1.65 GHz dual-core variant AMD T56N APU, AMD Radeon HD6310 graphics core and 2 x 512 kb cache. Both modules support up to 8 GByte of DDR3 RAM via two memory sockets.

Axiomtek Announces EP100 EPIC Embedded Board

Axiomtek introduced their EP100 EPIC embedded board. Options for the EP100 module include either the AMD G-Series APU dual core T56N with Radeon HD 6320 graphics or AMD G-Series APU single core T40R with Radeon HD 6250 graphics. The board features the AMD A50M FCH, up to 4 GB of DDR3 1333 memory, three display outputs, dual gigabit LAN ports, and two PCI Express Mini card expansion interfaces. The Axiomtek EP100 EPIC board will be available at the end of next month. It is ideal for high-end medical imaging, digital signage, kiosks/POI, thin clients, and gaming machines.

AMD Embedded G-Series APU for Embedded Systems

AMD introduced their new Embedded G-Series processor for embedded systems. The Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) features AMD Fusion technology and a low-power, x86 CPU based on the Bobcat core with a DirectX 11-capable GPU and parallel processing engine. The G-Series is ideal for digital signage, internet-ready set top boxes, mobile and desktop thin clients, casino gaming machines, point-of-sale kiosks, small form factor PCs, and single board computers (SBCs). Companies like Advansus, Compulab, Congatec, Fujitsu, Haier, iEi, Kontron, Mitec, Quixant, Sintrones, Starnet, WebDT, and Wyse will be launching embedded systems based on the AMD Embedded G-Series soon.
