GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the NETernity CP921RC-30x 6U CompactPCI 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. The CP921RC-30x is a fully managed Layer 2/3+ switch with support for ‘future-proof’ IPv6 switching and routing. It is ideal for applications in telecommunications, industrial, and military systems. The switch is available in two models: 24 GigE ports per PICMG 2.16 (all rear I/O) and 22 GigE ports per PICMG 2.16 plus 4 front panel ports (two 10 GigE and two 1 GigE). The CP921RC-30x features OpenWare switch management software. OpenWare features VLANS, Port Mirroring, Multicast, MSTP, SNMP, Trunking, port security, port authentication, and denial of service prevention.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the GS12 rugged, Ethernet switch. The GS12 switch is a standalone, fully managed Layer 2/3 Gigabit device with 12 Gigabit Ethernet ports and support for IPv6 switching and routing. The GE GS12 can be deployed in a wide array of applications in ground vehicles that need the ability to interconnect a large number of nodes. The GS12 Ethernet switch is ideal for applications that require networking capability in harsh conditions such as those found in military and aerospace ground-, airborne- and naval environments.
PMC-Sierra rolled out the PM5422 META 20G device for Carrier Ethernet Switch and Router (CESR) equipment. The META 20G connects Carrier Ethernet Switch and Router (CESR) equipment to Metro Optical Transport Networks (ITU-T G.709 OTN). The PM5422 META 20G integrates Carrier Ethernet mapping and framing of 10GE LAN and WAN, and OTN mapping of IP-services such as Storage Area Networks (SAN) and video protocols, while maintaining support for deployed technologies such as Packet over SONET/SDH (POS). The PM5422 META 20G devices are available in 27mm x 27mm 672 ball FCBGA packages.
Interface Masters Technologies introduced the Niagara 2292 desktop form-factor external passive bypass switch family for Gigabit Ethernet (GE). The switch supports Copper, Multi-Mode and Single-Mode Fiber Gigabit Ethernet options. The Niagara 2292 is designed to integrate with Inline Networking Servers, including WAN Acceleration, UTM, IPS Systems, and Security and Monitoring Appliances such as Firewalls, IDS systems, and Analysis Probes. The bypass switch features passive bypass functionality for maximum network-uptime and performance. The Niagara 2292 is now available for free evaluation for qualified projects and will be in full production this month.
