STMicroelectronics introduced the SPEAr1300 embedded microprocessors for embedded systems. The SPEAr1300 features dual ARM Cortex-A9 processors with a DDR3 memory interface and is manufactured in ST’s low-power 55nm HCMOS (high-speed CMOS) process technology. The new SPEAr (Structured Processor Enhanced Architecture) processors support fully symmetrical operation, at speeds up to 600MHz/core for 3000 DMIPS equivalent. Initial samples has already been shipped to early adopters.
STMicroelectronics launched the SPEAr300, SPEAr310, SPEAr320, and SPEAr600 embedded microprocessors. The four new SPEAr (Structured Processor Enhanced Architecture) microprocessors combine one or two advanced ARM9 processor cores with memory interfaces, and a large set of IP blocks. ST’s new SPEAr embedded microprocessors are in full production. The single-core models (SPEAr300/310/320) are priced below $7 for mass production quantities. The dual-core SPEAr600 sells below $9 for mass production quantities.
