WIN Enterprises introduced the MB-60830 single board computer. The SBC features the new AMD Embedded G-Series SoC (System on Chip) with integrated chipset and discrete-class AMD Radeon Graphics Processing Unit. VIA Technologies introduced the VIA ARMOS-800 embedded system. The fanless embedded computer supports the VIA VAB-800 Pico-ITX board. The ARM-based system features an 800MHz Freescale ARM Cortex-A8 SoC, 4GB of eMMC Flash, on-board USB pin-header and MicroSD Card slot. The VIA ARMOS-800 is ideal for industrial embedded applications where robustness is critical.
Ambarella announced the A9 camera System on Chip. The SoC supports the new 4K Ultra HD video resolution at 30 frames per second. It features dual core ARM Cortex-A9 CPUs, 32nm CMOS technology, and low power consumption. The Ambarella A9 SoC is available now for qualified customers. It is ideal for creating cameras with advanced fast-action video features, exceptional still image quality, and full wireless connectivity.
GreenBase Technology introduced their GK-335x Ultra Low Power Computer Module. The GK-335x ULP-COM is based on the 720Mhz Texas Instruments Sitara AM335x (ARM Cortex A8). Their first product will be the GK-3359. It is ideal for industrial control and building/home automation. The GreenBase GK-335x ULP-COM will be available in the second quarter of 2012. The GK-335x is designed in compliance with the release candidate for the ultra low power Computer-on-Module standard based on ARM and SoCs, named ULP-COM (working title) and initiated by Kontron.
Conexant Systems introduced the CX20708 super wideband (SWB) voice input processor system-on-chip (SoC). The Conexant CX20708 features high-fidelity 16-bit ADC, microphone pre-amp, asynchronous sample rate converter, sync buffer and digital signal processor. Samples of the CX20708 samples are available now. The Conexant chip is packaged in an environmentally friendly, RoHS/green-compliant 9×9 millimeter 76-pin quad flat no-lead package. Prototype pricing is $3.00 in 1K quantities.
PMC-Sierra introduced the PM6373 POLO 40G System-on-Chip for coherent optical networking. The SoC is a single chip CMOS coherent DP-(D)QPSK transmission transceiver. The PMC-Sierra PM6373 POLO 40G features chromatic dispersion (CD), polarization mode dispersion (PMD), second order PMD (SOP), and high-rate polarization tracking. The device will sample later this year. The POLO 40G is implemented in 40nm CMOS technology and packaged in a 480-pin 23mm x 23mm FCBGA package.
PMC-Sierra introduced the PAS6500 System-on-Chip (SoC) family of EPON ONU devices. The PMC-Sierra PAS6500 family consists of the PAS6502 for data and voice-over-IP (VoIP) Single-Family Units (SFUs), the PAS6500 for data SFUs, and the PAS6501 for Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs). EPON ONU devices feature integrated Optical Analog Front End (OAFE) technology. The PAS6500 samples and reference designs are available now. The chips are ideal for Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) applications.
Freescale Semiconductor announced the QorIQ Qonverge base station-on-chip devices. The QorIQ Qonverge processor family consists of four distinct products optimized for small cell (femto and pico) and large cell (metro and macro) applications. The family also supports remote radio head and emerging cloud-based radio access network (C-RAN) configurations. The first QorIQ Qonverge devices are the 45nm PSC9130/PSC9131 femto SoCs and PSC9132 picocell/enterprise femto SoC devices. They will be available in the second half of 2011. 28nm processors targeting larger cell (metro and macro) base stations will also be available later this year.
Marvell introduced the Avastar 88W8797 802.11n 2×2 dual-band Wi-Fi System-on-Chip (SoC). The Avastar 88W8797 features Wi-Fi Tx beamforming technology, Bluetooth 4.0 low energy capabilities, FM Tx/Rx, and supports high data rates. The Avastar 88W8797 is a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) combination radio with advanced power management designed for handheld products like smartphones and tablets.
CommAgility introduced the AMC-2C6616 and AMC-2C6670 AdvancedMC modules. The AMC-2C6616 features the TI TMS320TCI6616 System-on-Chip (SoC) base station, and is ideal for LTE wireless base station applications, including development, trials and final deployment in the field. The AMC-2C6670 is based on the TI TMS320C6670 digital signal processor (DSP), and is ideal for high-performance applications in the mission critical, including public safety and defense, medical and high-end imaging and test and automation and other multicore high performance applications. The AMC-2C6616 and AMC-2C6670 will be sampling in January 2011.
