Kontron announced the AM4140 AdvancedMC processor module. The AM4140 features a Freescale QorIQ P4040/80 4/8-core processor, Serial Rapid IO, 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express, and dual-channel memory (up to 8 GB ECC-RAM). It supports VxWorks 6.9, WindRiver Linux, and WindRiver Hypervisor. The Kontron AM4140 AdvancedMC processor module will be available this month. It is ideal for high-speed processing in telecommunications (such as RNCs, LTE and test equipment), military communications, and industrial and medical environments.
Freescale Semiconductor launched the Advanced Multiprocessing (AMP) series, which is their next-generation QorIQ multicore platform. The AMP series features a multi-threaded 64-bit Power Architecture core, 28nm process technology, up to 24 virtual cores, acceleration engines and improved power management. The T4240 will be the first device in the series. It features hardware accelerators, 12 dual-threaded e6500 cores, and 24 threads to address high-end data plane processing applications.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the PPC10A rugged 6U VME single board computer. The PPC10A SBC is based on the Freescale QorIQ P4080 8-core processor. The board features either eight or four e500mc cores (each operating at up to 1.5GHz), up to 8 GBytes of dual channel DDR3 memory, two XMC/PMC sites, AFIX site, two Gigabit Ethernet ports (with an additional two ports optionally available), two Serial ATA ports, two USB 2.0 ports (three additional USB 2.0 ports are optionally available) and 31 GPIO ports.

The SBC312 SBC features dual channel DDR3 memory (up to 4 GBytes), two x4 PCI Express Gen2 links, two 1000BaseT ports, two serial ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two SATA ports, up to eight GPIO ports, and a PMC/XMC mezzanine site. The GE SBC312 is designed for demanding space- and weight-constrained environments such as unmanned vehicles.

The MVME2500 features a dual- or single-core Freescale QorIQ processor (P2020 or P2010), Power Architecture technology, up to 2 GB DDR3 soldered memory, 16 MB SPI boot flash memory, a SDHC socket, 512 KB non-volatile MRAM, SATA port, XMC site, three Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 2.0 port, abd five serial ports. The GE SBC is ideal for applications with tight thermal constraints in industrial automation, medical, and defense/aerospace.
