Texas Instruments (TI) announced the ISO1176T isolated half-duplex differential line transceiver with integrated transformer driver. The TI ISO1176T provides the primary voltage for an isolation transformer. The ISO1176T offers the smallest isolated signal and power system design with highest efficiency and lowest electromagnetic interference (EMI). The 16-pin SOIC ISO1176T is available now for $3.30 (in quantities of 1,000). Two other isolated full-duplex RS-485 transceivers with transformer drivers, one operating at 5 V and other operating at 3.3 V, will be available by the end of this quarter.
Texas Instruments (TI) launched their AM1810 Sitara ARM microprocessor (MPU). The AM1810 single-chip solution features the ARM926EJ-S 32-bit RISC processor core and an integrated PROFIBUS interface. The TI device eliminates the need for an external PROFIBUS, ASIC or FPGA, which saves development time and cost while improving system performance. The AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU with PROFIBUS is available for sampling and priced at USD $9.95 in 1,000 unit quantities (1ku). The AM1810 Sitara ARM MPU is ideal for industrial applications — such as a programmable logic controller (PLC) or human machine interface (HMI).
