Kontron introduced the COMe-mCT10 Computer-on-Module. According to Kontron, it is the world’s first COM Express mini Computer-on-Module with dual-core processing power. The Kontron COMe-mCT10 COM Express module is based on the Intel Atom processors N2600, N2800 and D2550. Samples of the new Kontron boards are available now. The COMe-mCT10 is ideal for handheld mobile embedded systems, as well as small portable, in-vehicle or stationary devices such as POS/POI, infotainment, digital signage, gaming and medical.
WIN Enterprises introduced their MB-73240 PC/104+ module. The WIN MB-73240 supports the Intel Atom D525, D425 and N455 processors. The board features dual GbE Ethernet ports, two serial ports, four USB ports, LVDS support, three RS-232, RS-232/422/485, CFast, SATA, and GPIO and HD audio. The RoHS compliant MB-73240 is available now. It is ideal for space-limited applications like mobile medical, interactive kiosk, human-machine interface (HMI), in-vehicle infotainment, gaming and industrial control.
e-con Systems introduced their e-CAMNT_MX53x video decoder board. The e-CAMNT_MX53x can be used as a plug-n-play to interface NTSC/PAL camera. The NTSC/PAL video decoder board has interfaces for both S-Video input and composite video input (CVBS). It supports the analog camera interface on the Freescale i.MX53 Quick Start Board (QSB). The e-CAMNT_MX53x video adapter board will be available now. It is ideal for surveillance, endoscopy, and low light camera applications.
WIN Enterprises introduced their PL-80310 networking appliance. The PL-80310 features the Intel E3-1200 series processor (code named Sandy Bridge), DDR3 1066/1333MHz DIMM sockets (up to 32GB memory), 3.5-inch SATA 3.0, CompactFlash, seven GbE LAN ports, USB 2.0 ports, RJ-45 console port, and four LED indicators. The Win PL-80310 1U rackmount appliance is ideal for firewall, packet inspection, SPAM filtering, VPN, UTM, financial, and Internet services.
AMD announced three new low-power AMD Embedded G-Series processors: T48L, T30L, and T24L. AMD also announced SMB/SOHO storage Reference Design Kit and a new Systems and Technology track for the AMD Fusion Partner Program. In addition, AMD has released source code for coreboot (an open-source BIOS option that initializes hardware and boot logic for systems based on Microsoft Windows and Linux).
VIA Technologies introduced the Eden X2 dual-core processor for industrial and commercial embedded systems. VIA Eden X2 processors combine two 64-bit, superscalar VIA Eden cores on one die. The Eden X2 are natively 64-bit compatible. VIA Eden X2 processors are based on the latest 40nm manufacturing process using a VIA NanoBGA2 package of 21mm x 21mm with a die size of 11mm x 6mm. VIA Eden X2 processors and are fully pin-to-pin compatible with VIA Eden, VIA C7 and VIA Nano E-Series processors. VIA Eden X2 Processors are sampling now. Systems and boards featuring the VIA Eden X2 will be available in Q2 2011.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the SBC324 3U OpenVPX rugged single board computer. The SBC324 is based on the 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 processors (codenamed Sandy Bridge). The SBC324 SBC features a quad core processor (up to 2.1GH), up to 8GBytes of DDR3 1.333GHz memory, a range of PCI Express backplane configurations, an XMC site with I/O, two 10/100/1000BaseT Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, VGA graphics, HD audio, two SATA channels, four USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, and two RS-232/422 COM ports. The SBC is ideal for size-, weight- and power-constrained applications in harsh environments (ie: unmanned vehicles).
BCM Advanced Research introduced the MX67QM, MX67QMD, and RX67Q industrial motherboards. The new modules are based on the Intel Q67 chipset, Intel QM67 Express chipset and 2nd generation Intel Core processor family. The MX67QM, MX67QMD, and RX67Q industrial motherboards are ideal for embedded systems, digital signage, medical systems, and industrial automation.
IBASE Technology announced the iPPC-1700 Panel PC. The iPPC-1700 features the IBASE MI953AF Mini-ITX motherboard, Socket G1 (rPGA 989) for Intel Core i7 / Core i5 processors, steel construction, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four serial ports, digital I/O, 17″ XGA (1280×1024) TFT touch-screen display (16.7M colors). The touch screen panel conforms to IP65 specifications to protect it against both water and dust. The IBASE iPPC-1700 Panel PC is ideal for information kiosk, point-of-sales terminal, ATM, digital signage and factory automation systems.
Axiomtek introduced the SHB105 PICMG 1.3 single board computer. The SHB105 SBC is based on the Intel 3450 chipset and supports the quad-core Intel Xeon 3400 series processors in the LGA1156 socket. The module features two unbuffered ECC DDR3 1066/1333 MHz DIMM (up to 8GB); six SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 10, 5 function; an integrated Trusted Platform Module 1.2; and Intel Active Management 6.0 technology; and Intel Virtualization Technology. The Axiomtek SHB105 will be available January 2011. The single board computer is ideal for security applications and network-intensive applications such as NVR, DVR, and visual inspection instrument.
