Texas Instruments introduced the Tiva ARM microcontrollers. The Tiva C Series TM4C123x ARM Cortex-M4 MCU is the first device of the new platform. It is the first Cortex-M-based MCUs to be built on 65 nanometer flash process technology. The Tiva C Series TM4C123x MCUs, formerly known as Stellaris LM4F MCUs, are in production now. Pricing for the TI Tiva ARM microcontroller starts at $2.15 at 10K quantities. They are ideal for home, building and industrial automation.
eSOL has completed prototype development of a real-time OS (RTOS) for many-core processors, tentatively called Many-Core real-time OS (MCOS). According to eSOL, MCOS will be the world’s first commercial RTOS for embedded many-core processors. eSOL’s MCOS is currently in use on the Renesas Electronics RH850-based MPU implemented on FPGAs with 16 hardware threads in four CPU cores (the virtual equivalent of 16 CPUs).
e-con Systems introduced the e-CAM55_37x, which is a MIPI camera interface reference design for the Texas Instruments AM37x / DM37x processors. The e-CAM55_37x works with the Logic PD Zoom DM3730 SOM-LV development Kit. The MIPI CSI-2 Camera Interface reference design features the e-CAM52_MI5640_MOD, which is a 5 MP autofocus camera module that is based on OmniVisions OV5640 sensor. congatec introduced the conga-BP77 module. The congatec conga-BP77 board is based on the COM Express Type 2 connector pin-out. The conga-BP77 supports the Intel Core i7-3612QE, Intel Core i7-3555LE and Intel Core i5-3610ME processors. It features the new mobile Intel Express chipset QM77 and up to 16 GByte dual channel DDR3 memory (1600 MT/s). The COM Express board is ideal for medical, gaming and multimedia applications.
Extreme Engineering Solutions introduced their XPedite5401 conduction-cooled PrPMC/XMC module. The X-ES XPedite5401 supports the Freescale QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor families. The module features two channels of DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM, up to 8 GB (4 GB each), up to 16 GB of user flash and 256 MB of boot flash (with redundancy), two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a x4 PCI Express interface to P15, and two SATA 3.0 Gb/s ports to P16. GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the bCOM6-L1400 COM Express module. The bCOM6-L1400 features the Intel Core i7 processor, up to 8GBytes of DDR3 memory, Gigabit Ethernet, four SATA interfaces, RAID 0 and RAID 1 support, eight USB 2.0 ports and four USB 3.0 ports. The GE bCOM6-L1400 COM Express module is ideal for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, transportation and defense applications in a broad range of embedded computing environments.
WIN Enterprises introduced their PL-80460 network appliance. The Win PL-80460 is built with Intel Embedded IA components. The network appliance supports single Intel 32nm i3/i5/i7 (code name Sandy Bridge) and Intel E3-xx processors. The 2U rackmount platform is designed for network service applications. It is ideal for firewall, packet inspection, SPAM filtering, VPN, UTM, financial, and Internet services.
ADLINK Technology introduced their aTCA-6250 AdvancedTCA (ATCA) processor blade. The ADLINK aTCA-6250 features dual 8-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2658/E5-2648L, Intel C604 PCH, eight-channel memory (up to 128GB of DDR3 memory), dual 10GbE Fabric Interfaces, dual GbE Base Interfaces, quad front panel GbE egress ports, front panel dual COM and USB 2.0 ports, front panel VGA connector, onboard SATA connector and 400W power supply subsystem.
Kontron launched the CP3003 3U CompactPCI processor board. The Kontron CP3003 is based on the 3rd generation Intel Core processor technology. It includes the latest dual and quad-core CPU performance that is scalable up to the 2.1 GHz Intel Core i7-3612QE processor. Low voltage and ultra-low voltage processors are also available for applications requiring lower performance and heat dissipation. Full production of the Kontron 3U CompactPCI processor board CP3003 is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. It is ideal for industrial, transportation, test and measurement, medical and military applications.
Congatec introduced the conga-TCA Type 6 Pin-out COM Express module. The conga-TCA supports the Intel Atom N2600 processor, Intel Atom N2800 processor, and Intel Atom D2700 processor. The board features up to 4GB single-channel DDR3 memory, five PCI Express x1 lanes, two SATA 2.0, eight USB 2.0, two optional USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet interface, fan control, LPC bus, and Intel high definition audio.
