Microchip Technology introduced their MCP19111 Digitally Enhanced Power Analog controller. The MCP19111 is a new hybrid, digital and analog power-management device. The controller increases the capabilities of high-efficiency, analog-based power designs. The MCP19111 controller is priced at $2.81 each. It is available in a 5×5 mm, 28-pin QFN package.
Mentor Graphics unveiled the latest version of their Nucleus Real Time Operating System (RTOS). Nucleus v3 features a certified IPv6 Ready networking stack and security protocols, a variety of wireless communication options (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee), and built-in power management capabilities. Mentor Nucleus Real Time Operating System is ideal for power conscious, battery powered applications.
Summit Microelectronics introduced the SMB20X family of programmable power manager (PPM) integrated circuits. The SMB20X family includes the SMB207, 207A, 208, 208A, 209, 209A single- and dual-output integrated DC-DC buck regulators. The SMB20X family combines Summit’s digital programmability with dense integration, ultra-compact size, and cost-effective bill-of-materials (BoM) necessary for mass-market consumer products. The SMB20X family is available in a tiny thermally-enhanced, RoHS-compliant, lead-free 3mm X 3mm, 20-pad QFN. Available now in production quantities, the SMB20X family is priced between $1.00 each for the SMB207 to $1.40 each for the SMB208A/209A respectively in quantities of 10,000 units.

The DA9057 is a highly integrated power management, audio and user interface controller for multimedia players, portable navigation systems and other handheld devices. The DA9057 features five on-board dc/dc converters that support 24-bit stereo audio headphone playback on a 5mW power budget. The DA9057 combines a flexible power sequencer with a fully programmable filter/mixer engine to support a wide variety of ARM-based multimedia processors.
Lattice Semiconductor introduced the ispPAC-POWR1014-2 and ispPAC-POWR1014A-2. The new devices are the latest members of Power Manager II product family. The ispPAC-POWR1014-2 and ispPAC-POWR1014A-2 devices integrate higher voltage charge pumps with programmable current to control MOSFETs in Hot Swap and Sequencing applications. High volume (250KU+) pricing for the ispPAC-POWR1014-2 devices in the 48-pin TQFP package and industrial temperature range is $1.95, with the ispPAC-POWR1014A-2 devices priced 10% higher.
