Microchip Technology introduced the new PIC32 Bluetooth Audio Development Kit, which enables custom application development on the PIC32 microcontrollers (MCUs) for Bluetooth and USB digital audio solutions. The Microchip development kit includes an interface for use for iPod and iPhone products, and enables expansion to support these devices. The Microchip PIC32 Bluetooth Audio Development Kit (part # DV320032) is available now for $199.99. The kit is ideal for developers who want to add high-quality wireless audio to their design.
Microchip Technology introduced their Wi-Fi Comm Demo Board. The new product features a Microchip 32-bit PIC32 microcontroller and a low-power MRF24WB0MA agency-certified, IEEE 802.11, embedded Wi-Fi radio transceiver module. The demo board makes it easy to evaluate and integrate the combination of Microchip’s Wi-Fi solutions and 32-bit MCUs in one compact and cost-effective package. Microchip’s Wi-Fi Comm Demo Board is available now for $49.
Microchip Technology introduced the MX1 and MX2 32-bit PIC32 microcontrollers. The low pin count MX1 and MX2 MCUs feature 61 DMIPS performance, up to 32 KB of Flash and 8 KB of SRAM, two I2S interfaces, Microchip’s Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) peripheral, 8-bit Parallel Master Port (PMP) interface, 13-channel Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), USB 2.0, dedicated audio and capacitive-sensing peripherals. The PIC32MX110F016B and PIC32MX220F032 MCUs are available in 28-pin SPDIP, SSOP, SOIC and QFN packages; and in 44-pin QFN, VTLA and TQFP packages. Prices start at $1.58 each, in 10,000-unit quantities. The Microchip microcontrollers are ideal for applications in the consumer, industrial, medical and automotive applications.
Microchip Technology introduced the 32-bit PIC32MX5/6/7 microcontroller family. The six members of the PIC32MX5/6/7 family are available now for sampling and volume production. All six microcontrollers are available in 100-pin TQFP 12x12mm, TQFP 14x14mm and BGA packages, and 64-pin TQFP and QFN packages. Prices range from $3.71 each for the PIC32MX534F064H, up to $4.93 each for the PIC32MX764F128L (in 10,000 unit). The PIC32MX5/6/7 family is ideal for communications (point-of-sale terminals, Web servers, multi-protocol bridges), industrial/medical (automation controllers, medical devices, security monitoring), consumer/appliance (audio, MP3 decoders, displays, small appliances, fitness equipment), and automotive (aftermarket, car alarms, GPS).
Microchip Technology introduced the Multimedia Expansion Board and enhanced mTouch Cap Touch Evaluation Kit. The Multimedia Expansion Board enables development of highly interactive, graphics-based interfaces with network connectivity. The enhanced mTouch Cap Touch Evaluation Kit adds a new board for implementing capacitive touch sensing with the PIC32. The Multimedia Expansion Board (part # DM320005, $249.99) and the enhanced mTouch Cap Touch Evaluation Kit (part # DM183026-2, $99.95) are both available now.
