WinSystems introduced their PXM-GIGE Gigabit Ethernet module. The PXM-GIGE is SUMIT-ISM compatible, and is designed for high-speed networking connectivity for small form factor, industrial embedded applications. The Gigabit Ethernet module supports Linux, Windows, and other x86-compatible real-time operating systems. Free drivers are available. The WinSystems PXM-GIGE board is available for $199 each.
WIN Enterprises introduced the PL-80260 desktop networking platform. The PL-80260 features either the Intel Atom D410 single-core or D510 dual-core processor, Intel 82801HM I/O Hub, CompactFlash, up to 6 Intel GbE LAN ports, SSD or HDD, DDR2 SO-DIMM (up to 2GB), Dual SATA-II interfaces, and mini PCI slot. The PL-8026A version with Dual-Core Atom D510 costs $379 in OEM quantities of 1000 units. Evaluation units are available now. The unit can be modified to meet specific market requirements. The PL-80260 is ideal for OEM applications like routing, firewall/threat management, database, and network attached storage (NAS).
Microchip Technology introduced the 24AA025E48 cascadeable I2C serial EEPROM device. The EUI-64 compatible 24AA025E48 features pre-programmed EUI-48-node addresses. The EEPROM device enables designers to add MAC addresses to their designs on-the-fly. The address pins on the 24AA025E48 further enable designers to add more memory to their application, by allowing them to cascade up to eight EEPROM devices onto the I2C bus. The 24AA025E48 device is available in a 6-pin SOT-23 or 8-pin SOIC package, for $0.22 each in 10,000-unit quantities, for both package options.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the NETernity CP921RC-30x 6U CompactPCI 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. The CP921RC-30x is a fully managed Layer 2/3+ switch with support for ‘future-proof’ IPv6 switching and routing. It is ideal for applications in telecommunications, industrial, and military systems. The switch is available in two models: 24 GigE ports per PICMG 2.16 (all rear I/O) and 22 GigE ports per PICMG 2.16 plus 4 front panel ports (two 10 GigE and two 1 GigE). The CP921RC-30x features OpenWare switch management software. OpenWare features VLANS, Port Mirroring, Multicast, MSTP, SNMP, Trunking, port security, port authentication, and denial of service prevention.
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced the CC430F513x microcontrollers (MCUs). The CC430F513x microcontrollers combine the MSP430 MCU with the sub-1GHz CC1101 RF transceiver. The CC430F513x devices offer up to 20 MIPS performance and support security options such as an integrated AES hardware module. TI also announced the CC430F61xx series of LCD devices. Production quantities of the CC430F513x MCUs are available for $4.15 (1K units). The CC430F61xx family with integrated LCD will be sampling in May with prices starting at $4.35 (1 K units).

Digi International announced the ConnectCore Wi-i.MX51 Digi JumpStart Kit. The Wi-i.MX51 kit features the ConnectCore core module, which is designed specifically for low power, wireless multimedia applications. The kit includes all of the tools necessary to make wireless product development easy including development board, Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 board support package, and a 7″ WVGA LCD. Renesas Technology America announced the R8A20410BG, which is the first member of the TCAM (Ternary CAM) Series. The R8A20410BG TCAM has a capacity of 20 Mbits and a high-speed search performance of up to 360 MSPS (mega-searches per second)/Table. The R8A20410BG allows expansion up to 40 Mbits through cascade connections. The package is a 576-pin FCBGA (flip chip BGA) measuring 27 mm × 27 mm. Sample shipments will begin this month.

The PL-80100 features Intel 5300 Series technology, 10 Gigabit Ethernet (2x), and support for a range of high-performance Intel Xeon processors for OEM solutions. PL-80100 supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP 64. FreeBSD and additional Linux versions are supported. Pricing for the PL-80100 in OEM quantities begins at $2500.
