Radicom Research introduced the RB4000 and RB4000HM Bluetooth modules. The new Radicom modules replace RS232 cable by providing short-range wireless data connectivity. The RB4000 (surface-mount PCB module with on-board antenna), RB4000HM (through-hole module), and RB4000HM-c (built-in U.FL connector) Bluetooth modules are available now. Prices start at US$9.00 for the RB4000 in quantities of 500 pieces.
Datasound Laboratories (DSL) introduced the VDX-DIP-PCI and VDX-DIP-ISA modules. The PCI and ISA processing modules are based on 800MHz Vortex86DX CPU with 256MB DDR2 RAM. The DSL VDX-DIP-PCI and VDX-DIP-ISA boards feature 10/100Mbps LAN connectivity, four USB ports, up to five serial ports, PCI or ISA expansion, and redundancy. The modules are ideal for data acquisition, industrial automation and control, automotive, human machine interface and robotics.
ADLINK Technology recently introduced the Express-HR, cPCI-3970, and NuPRO-E340 embedded boards. The Express-HR is a COM Express module that features the Intel Core i7 processor, Intel QM67 Express chipset, PCI Express Gen2, and SATA 6 Gb/s. The cPCI-3970 is a 3U CompactPCI blade that features the Intel Core i7 processor and Intel QM67 Express chipset. The NuPRO-E340 is a PICMG 1.3 System Host Board based on the Intel Core i7/i5 processor and Intel Q67 Express chipset.
Mercury Computer Systems introduced the Ensemble Series OpenVPX LDS6521 and the OpenVPX SBC3510 modules. The 6U LDS6521 and 3U SBC3510 are based on the second generation Intel Core processor family. Mercury’s LDS6521 and SBC3510 are available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled rugged versions. The LDS6521 supports two XMC mezzanine sites, an Intel Core i7-2715QE processor, and supports (via POET) serial RapidIO Gen 1 and Gen 2 or low latency 10 Gigabit Ethernet to the backplane/dataplane. The SBC3510 combines a single XMC mezzanine site and a dual-core Intel Core i7-2655LE processor. The modules are ideal for ISR, defense, and aerospace applications.
CommAgility introduced the AMC-2C6616 and AMC-2C6670 AdvancedMC modules. The AMC-2C6616 features the TI TMS320TCI6616 System-on-Chip (SoC) base station, and is ideal for LTE wireless base station applications, including development, trials and final deployment in the field. The AMC-2C6670 is based on the TI TMS320C6670 digital signal processor (DSP), and is ideal for high-performance applications in the mission critical, including public safety and defense, medical and high-end imaging and test and automation and other multicore high performance applications. The AMC-2C6616 and AMC-2C6670 will be sampling in January 2011.
The Acromag APMC4110 busless PMC module carrier card enables the use of a PMC module in an independent stand-alone mode. Emerson Network Power introduced the NITX-300 series of embedded motherboards. The NITX-300 series is a Nano-ITX (120 mm by 120 mm) form factor motherboard. The NITX-300 features the Intel Atom Processor E6xx (0.6 GHz to 1.3 GHz), Intel Platform Controller Hub EG20T, up to 1 GB soldered DDR2 memory, a low-height profile, passive cooling capability, and extended temperature capability. The module supports Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Embedded 7 Standard and MeeGo Linux.
Acromag introduced the IP560 and IOS-560 CAN bus modules for interfacing network sensors and actuators to control systems. The IP560 is an Industry Pack ANSI/VITA-4 card that plugs into VME, CompactPCI, and PCI bus mezzanine carrier cards or single-board computers in embedded systems. IOS-560 is designed for use within Acromag’s I/O Server industrial PC, which is a small fanless box computer for mobile computing, machine control, and test applications. Both CAN bus interface modules feature two channels with optional isolation. Each channel has an NXP SJA1000 CAN controller with a TJA1041 transceiver. Extended temperature models support -40 to 85°C operation. Single quantity pricing starts at $500.
Radicom Research introduced the LSHM-200 serial-to-ethernet module for embedded system applications. The half-inch serial-to-ethernet board connects serial devices to IP networks with a 10/100BaseT interface. The half-inch LSHM-200 provides data transfer among multiple IP addresses simultaneously via Telnet ports with TCP/IP protocols under Ethernet. The onboard Ethernet functions conform to the IEEE802.3 standard with automation and buffering. The LSHM-200 module is available now for $24 in quantities of 100.
