Extreme Engineering Solutions introduced their XPedite5600 PrPMC/XMC module. The XPedite5600 features the Freescale P2040 or P2041 processor, up to 8 GB of DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM, and either a x4 PCI Express Gen2 XMC interface or 32-bit PCI PMC interface. The air-cooled X-ES XPedite5600 board is available now. It is ideal for industrial and communications applications that require a high-performance PowerPC processor on an industry standard mezzanine module.
Emerson Network Power introduced their new MVME8100 VME/VXS single board computer. The Emerson MVME8100 SBC features the Freescale P5020 QorIQ processor, up to 8GB high speed DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory, 8GB eMMC NAND Flash, and 512KB of non volatile F-RAM. The MVME8100 VME board supports Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills INTEGRITY. The Emerson Network Power MVME8100 is ideal for critical data storage, data logs, dynamic program updates, and dynamic security.
e-con Systems introduced their e-CAMNT_MX53x video decoder board. The e-CAMNT_MX53x can be used as a plug-n-play to interface NTSC/PAL camera. The NTSC/PAL video decoder board has interfaces for both S-Video input and composite video input (CVBS). It supports the analog camera interface on the Freescale i.MX53 Quick Start Board (QSB). The e-CAMNT_MX53x video adapter board will be available now. It is ideal for surveillance, endoscopy, and low light camera applications.
Strategic Test introduced their TX-28S Computer-on-Module. The TX-28S system-on-module is based on the 454 MHz Freescale i.MX283 processor. It features 64 MByte DDR2 SDRAM, 128 MByte NAND flash memory, and 200-pin SODIMM connector. The TX-28S is ideal for embedded fanless applications where low-price, small-size and low-power consumption are critical factors. The TX28S module is priced at $49 each in 10k quantities. A hardware reference platform, the Development Kit-5, is also available. The Development Kit-5 is priced at $999.
Kontron announced the AM4140 AdvancedMC processor module. The AM4140 features a Freescale QorIQ P4040/80 4/8-core processor, Serial Rapid IO, 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express, and dual-channel memory (up to 8 GB ECC-RAM). It supports VxWorks 6.9, WindRiver Linux, and WindRiver Hypervisor. The Kontron AM4140 AdvancedMC processor module will be available this month. It is ideal for high-speed processing in telecommunications (such as RNCs, LTE and test equipment), military communications, and industrial and medical environments.
WIN Enterprises introduced their PL-80380 network appliance for Internet security applications. The PL-80380 features a Freescale P1015E/P1024E processor, onboard DDR3 memory, two Atheros AR8033/AR8035 GbE Ethernet LAN ports with bypass function, four GbE Switch ports, mini-PCIe slot, a USB 2.0 and console port. The WIN PL-80380 is available in four standard configurations. Customization of the unit is also possible in OEM quantities. the PL-80380 is FCC and CE compliant.

The new single board computers are based on the Freescale QorIQ P2020 processor. Kontron announced their AM4120 single-width AdvancedMC processor module. The AM4120 features the Freescale QorIQ P2020 Dual Core processor, up to 4GB RAM with ECC, redundant universal bootloader U-Boot, persistent memory, up to three GbE channels, and two RJ45 interfaces. The Kontron AM4120 module will be available in sample quantities this month. It is ideal for industrial automation, medical, networking, telecom, military transportation and avionics.
Freescale Semiconductor launched the Advanced Multiprocessing (AMP) series, which is their next-generation QorIQ multicore platform. The AMP series features a multi-threaded 64-bit Power Architecture core, 28nm process technology, up to 24 virtual cores, acceleration engines and improved power management. The T4240 will be the first device in the series. It features hardware accelerators, 12 dual-threaded e6500 cores, and 24 threads to address high-end data plane processing applications.
iWave Systems Technologies introduced the iW-RainboW-G11M System on Module. The iWave SOM is based on Freescale’s i.MX53 (1GHz, ARM Cortex-A8) multimedia application processor. i.MX53 based SOM features 3D and 2D graphics, 1080i/p video processing, 1GB/2GB DDR2 RAM, 8GB eMMC4.41 Flash, 16MB SPI Flash for Boot, 10/100Mbps Ethernet PHY, Micro SD, UART and USB OTG. It is ideal for automotive infotainment, telematics, HMI and display based cluster applications.
