Lanner Electronics introduced the FW-8755 1U rack mount network appliance. The FW-8755 features an Intel CPU, 7 Ethernet ports, and a Lanner 8800 series Ethernet Module slot (for customization). The Lanner Ethernet modules offer 2 to 8 LAN ports with copper, fiber, and bypass options. In combination to the 7 onboard Ethernet ports, the FW-8755 can have a maximum of 15 LAN ports.

PMC-Sierra rolled out the PM5422 META 20G device for Carrier Ethernet Switch and Router (CESR) equipment. The META 20G connects Carrier Ethernet Switch and Router (CESR) equipment to Metro Optical Transport Networks (ITU-T G.709 OTN). The PM5422 META 20G integrates Carrier Ethernet mapping and framing of 10GE LAN and WAN, and OTN mapping of IP-services such as Storage Area Networks (SAN) and video protocols, while maintaining support for deployed technologies such as Packet over SONET/SDH (POS). The PM5422 META 20G devices are available in 27mm x 27mm 672 ball FCBGA packages.
The RISC-based Korenix JetCard 5400-w is an embedded Linux single board computer (SBC). The JetCard 5400-w has an operating temperature range of -40 to +80 °C. The Niagara 2292 is designed to integrate with Inline Networking Servers, including WAN Acceleration, UTM, IPS Systems, and Security and Monitoring Appliances such as Firewalls, IDS systems, and Analysis Probes. The bypass switch features passive bypass functionality for maximum network-uptime and performance. The Niagara 2292 is now available for free evaluation for qualified projects and will be in full production this month.
