Texas Instruments introduced their C2000 Concerto dual-core microcontroller series. The TI Concerto 32-bit MCU devices include a C28x core, control peripherals, an ARM Cortex-M3 core, connectivity peripherals, and safety and security features. The Concerto microcontrollers are available now in a 144 QFP package. Prices start at $6.99 (at 1000 units). The Concerto dual-core microcontrollers are ideal for intelligent motor control, renewable energy, smart grid, digital power and electric vehicles.
VIA Technologies introduced the Eden X2 dual-core processor for industrial and commercial embedded systems. VIA Eden X2 processors combine two 64-bit, superscalar VIA Eden cores on one die. The Eden X2 are natively 64-bit compatible. VIA Eden X2 processors are based on the latest 40nm manufacturing process using a VIA NanoBGA2 package of 21mm x 21mm with a die size of 11mm x 6mm. VIA Eden X2 processors and are fully pin-to-pin compatible with VIA Eden, VIA C7 and VIA Nano E-Series processors. VIA Eden X2 Processors are sampling now. Systems and boards featuring the VIA Eden X2 will be available in Q2 2011.

The new SBCs support the quad-core Intel Core i7-2715QE processor and the dual-core Intel Core i5-2515E processor. Avalue Technology announced their EMX-PNV Mini-ITX motherboard. The EMX-PNV module features the dual-core Intel Atom processor D510, Intel ICH8-M chipset, 2 SATA/SATA II, 4 COM, 8 USB 2.0, 16-bit GPIO (8-in and 8-out), optional built-in touch controller, 2 Intel Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, PCI, Mini PCIex1 slot, and CF. The Avalue board supports 48-bit LVDS output, 5.1+2-CH HD audio, single channel 18-bit LVDS and VGA+LVDS multi-display. The EMX-PNV is ideal for digital signage, POS, and kiosk systems.

MSC Vertriebs rolled out the CXC-PV525 COM Express module. The MSC CXC-PV525 features the Intel Atom D525 processor with dual core, two fast DDR3 SDRAMs (SO-DIMM sockets) with a total capacity of up to 4 GB, and a form factor of only 95mm x 95mm. The MSC CXC-PV525 board is ideal for automotive, industrial automation, medical and measurement systems. The MSC CXC-PV525 platform runs under the Windows 7, Windows XP (embedded), Windows CE and Linux operating systems.
IEI Technology (IEI) introduced several single board computers (SBC) with the dual-core Intel Atom processor D525. The D525 SBC features gigabit LAN, ASF 2.0 and TPM V1.2 hardware security functions, and uEFI BIOS architecture to support over 2.2 TB of HDD storage with a 64-bit operating system. The D525 series of single board computers are the PCISA-PV-D5251, PICOe-PV-D5251, NANO-PV-D5251 and NANO-PV-D5252.
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) introduced the XPedite5530 single board computer (SBC). The conduction- or air-cooled 3U CompactPCI SBC features the Freescale dual-core QorIQ P2020 processor, up to 4 GB of DDR3-800 ECC SDRAM, up to 16 GB of NAND flash and 256 MB of redundant NOR flash, XMC/PrPMC site, two Gigabit Ethernet portstwo serial ports, and a USB port. The XPedite5530 is available now. The XPedite5530 is for SWaP constrained industrial, communication, and military applications.
BCM announced the NX510D Nano ITX motherboard. The NX510D features the Intel Atom D510 processor, 1.66 GHz dual core processing, Hyper-Threading technology, the Intel ICH8M I/O Controller Hub, integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 (supports 384MB video memory, DirectX9, and Intel Clear Video HD Technology). The NX510D also includes Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2) for data security, onboard DC-in connector supporting 12V DC power, HD audio, four USB, two COM ports, GPIO, one Gigabit LAN, one Mini PCI Express slot, and one Compact Flash Socket. The new palm sized ultra low-power and low cost NX510D motherboard is available now.
MSC Vertriebs introduced the ETE-PV510 ETX computer-on-module. The ETE-PV510 is based on the dual core Intel Atom processor D510 with integrated graphics and memory controller. The 95 x 114 mm ETX module optionally integrates a 4GB flash disk to boot an embedded system. The MSC ETE-PV510 ETX module is ideal for industrial automation, image processing, medical, and digital signage. MSC provides different baseboards for the evaluation and the design-in of the ETX platform. Special starter kits for Windows and Linux operating systems are available.
