Raima released version 12 of the Raima Database Manager. RDM 12.0 helps developers deliver greater performance for time-critical applications, extend scalability to greater levels, and be smarter and more secure when sharing data between multiple computers or systems. RDM is available for Workgroup platforms, Embedded platforms and Mobile platforms. Raima Database Manager 12.0 is available now for evaluation.
McObject published a white paper about solutions for database durability and recoverability. The technical paper shares tests using the eXtremeDB IMDS and on-disk DBMS technology, along with commercially available hardware including Fusion ioDrive2 NAND flash memory from Fusion-io. The title of the article is: Seeking Fast, Durable Data Management: A Database System and Persistent Storage Benchmark.
ITTIA rolled out version 5.5 of the ITTIA DB SQL database for embedded systems and mobile platforms. ITTIA DB SQL provides a flexible interface to organize, share, and protect data. ITTIA DB SQL can be loaded as a shared library or plugin. As a result, a separate database installation step is not necessary. ITTIA DB SQL 5.5 is available for Windows, Linux, Android, ThreadX, QNX, and VxWorks. Evaluation copies are available now.
ITTIA DB SQL now includes data distribution features for the QNX Neutrino Realtime Operating System (RTOS). ITTIA DB SQL provides data distribution capabilities between an application embedded with ITTIA DB running on the QNX Neutrino RTOS and other back-end systems built with Microsoft SQL Server. This offering includes high availability, replication, and data synchronization between two different platforms: QNX and Windows.
McObject has ported their Perst open source, object-oriented embedded database system to Microsoft’s Silverlight technology for Web applications. With Perst for .NET, developers using Silverlight can now include true database management system (DBMS) features in their rich Web client applications, including adding persistence to this data by storing it on local file systems. Perst is available for Java and .NET, including Java ME and .NET Compact Framework.
McObject introduce a Java Native Interface (JNI) for their eXtremeDB embedded database. According to McObject, eXtremeDB JNI offers the fastest possible database solution in Java. eXtremeDB JNI is ideal for embedded systems, Java-based set-top boxes, and real-time enterprise systems (such as highly scalable finance, e-commerce, social network and other web applications).
McObject introduced version 4.0 of eXtremeDB. Using McObject’s eXtremeDB, developers eliminate the need to create custom data management code, reducing development and support costs for real-time systems and gaining higher performance. McObject 4.0 is ideal for a wide array of markets including financial services, industrial control, defense and aerospace, web services, telecommunications, and consumer electronics.
