Extreme Engineering Solutions launched the XPedite7431 Single Board Computer. The X-ES 3U CompactPCI SBC supports 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors. The X-ES XPedite7431 features up to 8 GB of memory, 32 MB of NOR boot flash, up to 16 GB of NAND flash, two 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, HDMI/DVI-D video port, and a USB 2.0 port. X-ES XPedite7431 SBC is ideal for air-cooled industrial and communications applications, and conduction-cooled military applications.

ADLINK EOS-1200 Embedded Vision System

ADLINK Technology recently introduced their EOS-1200 embedded vision system. The EOS-1200 supports the second generation Intel Core i7 quad core processor and the IEEE 1588 precise time protocol. The embedded system features four independent gigabit power over Ethernet (PoE) ports, data transfer rates up to 4.0 Gb/s, four serial ports, two USB 3.0 ports, 32 PNP/NPN isolated digital I/Os, two SATA interface, CFAST slot, internal USB port, and 1 kbit programmable EEPROM. The EOS-1200 is available now. Prices start at $1885. The system is ideal for multi-camera imaging applications like factory automation and food and packaging inspection.

Kontron VM6050 Single Board Computer

Kontron introduced the VM6050 6U VME single board computer. The Kontron VM6050 SBC features an Intel Core i7 processor, Intel QM 57 controller hub, up to 8 GByte of soldered ECC memory, and on-board USB flash support. Dedicated interfaces on the front include dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and serial port (SR-232/422/485). There are 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x SATA II, 2x USB 2.0, PCI Express x4, SRIO, GPIO and 32 I/Os for PMC 1 implemented on the backplane via the PO plug (VITA 31.1).

GE SBC324 3U OpenVPX Single Board Computer

GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the SBC324 3U OpenVPX rugged single board computer. The SBC324 is based on the 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 processors (codenamed Sandy Bridge). The SBC324 SBC features a quad core processor (up to 2.1GH), up to 8GBytes of DDR3 1.333GHz memory, a range of PCI Express backplane configurations, an XMC site with I/O, two 10/100/1000BaseT Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, VGA graphics, HD audio, two SATA channels, four USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, and two RS-232/422 COM ports. The SBC is ideal for size-, weight- and power-constrained applications in harsh environments (ie: unmanned vehicles).

The 3U air-cooled CompactPCI Express (cPCIe) SBC is based on the Intel Core i7 processor (2.53, 2.0, or 1.06 GHz) and Intel QM57 chipset. The XPedite7331 features DDR3-1066 ECC SDRAM (up to 8 GB), multiple PCI Express interfaces, 32 MB of NOR boot flash, NAND flash (up to 16 GB), Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB UART serial port. The XPedite7331 is ideal for industrial control and test and measurement applications.

X-ES XPedite7470 Single Board Computer

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) announced the XPedite7470 3U VPX Single Board Computer (SBC). The XPedite7470 SBC will initially be based on the Intel Core i7-2715QE processor and Intel QM67 Express chipset. Other XPedite7470 processor options will be available later this quarter. The XPedite7470 SBC will be available in March 2011. In addition to 3U VPX, X-ES products based on the 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor will be available in other form factors including 6U VPX, 3U and 6U CompactPCI, VME, and XMC. The COTS board is ideal for military, radar, image processing, and signals intelligence applications.

Emerson Network Power Embedded Development Kit

Emerson Network Power introduced the Embedded Development Kit (MATXM-CORE-411-WR). The Embedded Development Kit includes an Emerson Network Power MicroATX motherboard based on the Intel Core i7 processor with optimized trial versions of Wind River’s operating systems, development tools, embedded hypervisor and graphics software. Included in the Embedded Development Kit is a LiveUSB flash drive containing a host image and a configurable target image. Each kit also includes cables, a comprehensive startup guide, sample projects and tutorial videos.
