ADLINK Technology introduced the PACwiz programmable automation controller (PAC) solutions for automation applications using the IEC 61131-3 programming standard. With PACwiz, PLC users are able to easily upgrade to a PAC platform without further training as application development can be done in IEC 61131-3 languages, just as with traditional PLCs. PACwiz systems are available now starting at a single-unit list price of $999 for the PACwiz-MXC and $1149 for the PACwiz-DPAC.
Laird Technologies introduced the Q Series Thermostatic Controller for Thermoelectric Assemblies (TEAs). The Q Series Thermostatic Controller is a microcontroller-based device that adds integrated temperature control to a TEA. The controller functions as a single directional unit that offers heating or cooling temperature control to the device. Products in this series include TC-18-QC-50 and TC-18-QE-50.
STMicroelectronics announced the STHV748, which is a highly integrated low-noise ultrasound pulse controller. The STHV748 includes four independent channels, each of which generates precisely controlled high-voltage pulses to drive piezoelectric crystals or other transducers. The device is housed in a lead-free QFN64 9.0 x 9.0 x 1.0mm package. The STHV748 is available now at $11.95 in quantities of 10,000. The device is ideal for ultrasound imaging systems in a small form factor.
Concurrent Technologies announced the PP 712/08x family of 6U CompactPCI boards. The boards support supported the 2.53GHz Intel Core i7-610E, 2.0GHz Intel Core i7-620LE, and the 1.06GHz Intel Core i7-620UE. The PP 712/08x can support extended temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The modules are ideal for CPU intensive processing applications within the telecommunications, defense, and homeland security market sectors. The PP 712/08x boards support Linux, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Solaris, VxWorks, and QNX.
STMicroelectronics announced their STM32TS60 multi-touch resistive touchscreen controller chip. The STM32TS60 is the first member of ST’s new STMTouch family and provides a very low power, highly reliable alternative to capacitive touch screen solutions. STMTouch is a versatile platform for next-generation consumer devices. The STM32TS60 is housed in a 7 x 7mm 144-pin UFBGA package, and is now sampling to lead customers. Volume production is expected for Q2 2010.
STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) introduced the STDP6000 series of single-chip controller ICs. The STDP6000 features advanced 12-bit color-processing capabilities, enhanced color fidelity, DisplayPort connectivity, and ultra-low power consumption when the monitor is in standby mode. In addition, OEMs and end users can easily upgrade their monitor software without factory recall or on-site technical support via ST’s Smart ISP (In-System Programming) technology. The STDP6000 is available in volume production in a 128-pin TQFP package.
Technosoft has adapted the TMC-3D multi-axis motion controllerfor G-code commands. The G-code information is translated into TML commands through the G-code to TML converter integrated in the EasyMotion Studio software. The G-code files are imported into EasyMotion Studio and translated to TML commands. After the conversion process, TMC-3D will send the motion sequences to the drives / motors which execute the movements. The TML converter enables developers to set the basic movement parameters specific to the G-code: linear axes, cycle start button, choose the measure units, set the Traverse and Feed rates. Technosoft’s G-code-to-TML converter supports various G-code words, letters and parameters together with unary and binary operands.
Adax introduced the HDC3 SS7 signaling controller for the PCIe ExpressModule (PCIe EM) format. The Adax HDC3-EM enables the HDC3 SS7 signaling board to be used in systems using the new PCIe EM architecture, such as the Sun Blade 6000 servers. The HDC3-EM is designed to meet the PCISIG PCI Express ExpressModule Specification Revision 1.0. The Adax HDC3 family is also available in PMC, AMC, PCI/X and PCIe (full height and low-profile) board formats, all of which share a common software driver and have a consistent API for application portability.
