Distec launched their new ArtistaGUI human machine interface (HMI) controller. The ArtistaGUI graphic controller enables simple machine controls with a graphical user interface and touchscreen without substantial modifications to the control electronics. Programming of the GUI is carried out with a WYSIWYG Interface Designer and the QT-Quick scripting language. The communication protocol is the robust and in-field proven Modbus-RTU.
Vecow introduced the ECS-5600-3V embedded system. The ECS-5600-3V features 2nd Gen Intel Core i7-2710QE processor (6M Cache, up to 3.00 GHz), up to 16GB ram, four-channel 120/100 fps video capture, three GbE LANs, DVI-D/HDMI and VGA dual display, CFast, two 2.5″ SATA 6Gp/s HDD/SSDs, two miniPCI-express, and two eSATA ports. The Vecow ECS-5600-3V is ideal for machine vision applications, such as multi-camera industrial inspection, high-speed measurements, Line-scan camera systems, security, surveillance, and environment monitoring.
WinSystems introduced the PPM-GIGE-2 PC/104-Plus Dual Gigabit Ethernet Controller. The dual channel module features two Realtek RTL8110 devices. It offers self-stacking I/O expansion on PC/104, EPIC, and EBX SBCs based on the PC/104-Plus form factor. PPM-GIGE-2 is ideal for industrial embedded applications. A single channel version, PPM-GIGE-1, is also available. The two-channel PPM-GIGE-2 is priced at $199 and the single channel PPM-GIGE-1 is priced at $149.
Conexant Systems launched their CX92161 system-on-chip. The CX92161 SoC is optimized for laser single-function printers (SFPs) and thermal label printers. The new Conexant IC features a 32-bit microprocessor core, embedded double data rate (DDR) synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM), and enhanced printer engine direct control features. The CX92161 system-on-chip is sampling now. Volume production is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. The CX92161 is priced at $10 each in 10K quantities.
Vecow introduced the EC-3000 Intel Core i7/i5 Fanless Embedded Controller. The EC-3000 embedded box PC features five Gigabit Ethernet ports, two eSATA ports, VGA+DVI/HDMI dual display, isolated DIO, PCI-104 bus expansion and mini-PCIe. The Vecow EC-3000 is ideal for automated traffic enforcement, AOI, security and surveillance, industrial automation, and digital signage applications.
Datasound Laboratories (DSL) introduced the ICOP-6117-X embedded controller. The small-footprint and low-power x86 controller measures only 80mm x 50mm with a power consumption of less than 320mA @ 5V. The DSL ICOP-6117-X features the 300MHz Vortex86SX CPU, 128MB DDR2 RAM, 10/100Mbps LAN connectivity, serial and USB 2.0 ports, and 16-bit GPIO. The fanless ICOP-6117-X is ideal for embedded systems like handheld computers, portable monitoring systems, medical equipment and battery powered instrumentation.
Integrated Device Technology introduced the LDS7000 and LDS7001 touch screen controller IC’s. The LDS7000 and LDS7001 are optimized for IDT’s single-layer multi-touch projected capacitive touch screen technology. They do not not require cross-over isolation points like other solutions. The new ICs are sampling now. The LDS7000 is available in a 5×5 mm, 40-pin TQFN package. It is priced at $2.50 in 10,000-unit quantities. The IDT LDS7001 is available in a 6×6 mm, 48-pin TQFN package. It is priced at $2.95 in 10,000-unit quantities.
The Moxa ioPAC-8020 modular RTU controller is an industrial-grade platform for data acquisition and monitoring. The ioPAC-8020 can be connected to fixed devices such as PLCs, smart meters and other serial devices. It has an operating temperature of -40 to 75°C. The ioPAC-8020 is compliant with the EN50155 railway standard and available with a DIN-Rail mounting kit. It is ideal for rolling stock, wayside cabinet, roadside, environmental monitoring, and train monitoring applications.
National Instruments introduced the NI PXIe-8133 quad-core embedded controller. The PXIe-8133 features the Intel Core i7-820QM processor, 2 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz RAM, and the option of Windows XP or Windows 7 32-bit operating system. For memory-intensive applications, engineers can upgrade to 8 GB of system RAM and the Windows 7 64-bit OS. The NI PXIe-8133 controller also is available with an extended temperature option and solid-state hard drives for harsh environments.
Tokyo Electron Device (TED) introduced the inrevium TE4302 LSI. The TE4302 is a controller LSI that supports UHS-I of the latest SD card standard and MMC DDR mode of MMC standard. It features a function for bridging between these media interfaces and other interfaces such as ATA and CF. The TE4302 LSI supports SDR104 (104 Mbyte/second), which is the highest bus speed mode of the UHS-I. Samples of the inrevium TE4302 will be available June 2010 and full-scale deliveries are expected in October 2010.
