Microchip PIC18F K80 Microcontrollers

Microchip Technology introduced the PIC18F K80 8-bit CAN microcontrollers (MCUs). The Microchip PIC18F K80 microcontrollers feature 1.8 – 5.5V operation and eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology. The new PIC18F45K80, PIC18F46K80, PIC18F65K80 and PIC18F66K80 MCUs are available in 44- and 64-pin TQFP and QFN packages. The PIC18F45K80 and PIC18F46K80 MCUs are also available in a 40-pin PDIP package. The PIC18F25K80 and PIC18F26K80 MCUs are available in 28-pin QFN, SOIC, SPDIP and SSOP packages. Prices start at $1.84 each (in 10,000 unit quantities).

Texas Instruments UART and CAN-lite PRU Daughter Cards

Texas Instruments announced the universal asynchronous receiver/transmitters (UART) and controller area network lite (CAN-lite) programmable real-time unit (PRU) daughter cards and software. The UART PRU and CAN-lite PRU daughter cards can be used in evaluation with the AM1x Sitara ARM MPUs or as a standalone reference design. The daughter cards snap into the PRU peripheral connection on the AM1x Sitara ARM MPUs evaluation modules. The TI UART daughter card ($72) and the CAN daughter card ($77) are both available now. The production-quality software code for the daughter cards can be downloaded for free.
