DuroPC Industrial Computers announced the DuroPC PAN221, PAN148, PAN150, PAN219, and PAN220 Human Machine Interface (HMI) Panel PCs. The industrial grade Panel PC line features Intel Atom processors, fanless design, touch screen, Wonderware InTouch CE v10.1 HMI software, high-brightness LED backlit LCD display, and long life. The HMI panel computers range in size from 5.7″ to 17″. The new DuroPC supports the Windows 7 operating system and can be integrated directly into PCA, PLC, DCS, factory SCADA systems, operator terminals and automation applications. The are ideal for factory and industrial automation applications.
XMOS launched their motor control platform for highly efficient motor control designs. The XMOS motor control hardware platform provides dual-axis 3-phase motor control using an XS1-L1, and a communications and logging subsystem using an XS1-L2. It includes a framework of control, processing and interfacing functions. The motor control platform will be available in December. The XMOS motor control platform consists of:
- XCore hard real-time, multi-threaded processors
- XMOS motor control hardware board, with support for dual axis motor control and communication
- A suite of control, processing and interfacing functions, to help designers quickly develop advanced motor drives entirely in high level software programming languages
DSM Computer introduced the Galaxy G1-A control cabinet computer for industrial automation. The Galaxy G1-A features the Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor, Intel 801HM I/O controller (ICH8M), internal Compact Flash socket, eight USB 2.0 ports (six external and two internal), SATA, audio, Realtek 8111DL 1000 Base-T LAN interface, four free PCI slots or three free PCI slots and one PCI Express x1 slot, and one internal Mini-PCI Express x1 slot. The drive bays and the connections located on the front side of the industrial housing permit fast access to all components.
Acromag introduced the IP560 and IOS-560 CAN bus modules for interfacing network sensors and actuators to control systems. The IP560 is an Industry Pack ANSI/VITA-4 card that plugs into VME, CompactPCI, and PCI bus mezzanine carrier cards or single-board computers in embedded systems. IOS-560 is designed for use within Acromag’s I/O Server industrial PC, which is a small fanless box computer for mobile computing, machine control, and test applications. Both CAN bus interface modules feature two channels with optional isolation. Each channel has an NXP SJA1000 CAN controller with a TJA1041 transceiver. Extended temperature models support -40 to 85°C operation. Single quantity pricing starts at $500.
AdaCore rolled out Ada Web Server (AWS) for Wind River’s VxWorks Real-Time Operating System (RTOS). AWS for VxWorks, when used with the GNAT Pro development environment, enables developers to easily implement a user interface to embedded systems through regular web browsers. With AWS for VxWorks, users can connect through a direct TCP/IP link to board-level applications flike system control, configuration, and maintenance. The two-way interface is both lightweight and flexible. AWS for Wind River VxWorks is available now.
Axiomtek rolled out the iCON-31000 series of industrial serial device servers. The Axiomtek iCON-31000 is an economical way to quickly network-enable any serial device in the harsh factory floor conditions. The iCON-31000 series is ideal for infrastructure deployments, such as building automation, oil field automation, factory automation, and ITS. The iCON-31000 industrial serial device servers are now available.
The Acromag IOS-7200 I/O Server Industrial PC features an embedded AMD Geode LX800 500MHz CPU, 512MB of DDR400 DRAM, runs Windows Embedded Standard and Linux, VGA graphics, two Ethernet ports, two serial ports, four USB ports, a CompactFlash slot, and audio input/output jacks. An internal 2.5″ PATA hard disk or solid-state drive is available as a user-installed option. The Acromag Model IOS-7200 I/O Server PC is priced at $1695.
The Kontron Panel PC Pico Client is a RISC-based human machine interface with a resistive 5.7-inch VGA TFT touch-screen (640×480). The industrial Kontron Panel PC Pico Client supports Windows CE and is now available with CE, cULus and EN/UL60950-1 certification in EMEA. It will be available in North America and APAC this quarter. The compact, cost-effective and energy-saving industrial HMI is ideal for visualization and control tasks in machinery and equipment.
The Acadia Vision Processor II, from Sarnoff, is a system-on-a-chip (SoC) with real-time, portable, and low power consumption for embedded systems, vision processing, and control. Acadia II features an integrated ARM11 MPCore, small form factor, and low power. The SoC performs real-time contrast enhancement, stabilization, multi-sensor fusion, and tracking. Acadia II is ideal for portable and wearable vision systems, security and surveillance platforms, manned and unmanned aerial and ground vehicles, border and perimeter protection, and vision-aided GPS-denied navigation.
Renesas Technology America introduced the RX62T series of microcontrollers (MCU). The RX62T microcontrollers enable embedded systems engineers to offer eco-features for consumer, industrial, and HVAC equipment. The RX62T mcu is ideal for applications such as solar inverters, air conditioners, washing machines, lighting controllers, and power-factor controllers. The 100MHz RX62T microcontrollers are sampling now. Pricing is $3.35 (10K quantity) for the R5F562T7BDFM version (RX62T MCU with 128KB main flash, 8KB data flash, and 8KB SRAM in an LQFP64 package).
