Kontron launched their ARM Cortex A8 ULP-COM-sA3874i Computer-on-Module. The ULP-COM-sA3874i is based on Texas Instrument’s AM3874 Sitara ARM processors. The board helps embedded OEMs drive down system costs for ultra-low power SFF (small form factor) solutions. The Kontron ULP-COM-sA3874i module family is ideal for military, industrial automation/HMI, digital signage and medical applications. It is available for sampling now with serial production expected in Q1 2013.
Kontron introduced their COM Express Reference Carrier Type 6. The Kontron carrierboard is designed for the development of SFF applications. It supports all future-oriented interfaces required in small and portable applications. The new reference carrierboard for COM Express basic and compact Computer-and-Modules with pin-out type 6 is available now. It is ideal for OEMs developing always-connected mobile devices for digital signage, POS/POI, medical, transportation, and industrial automation.
Kontron introduced the COMe-cOH2 COM Express compact Computer-on-Modules, which are based on the COM Express type 2 pin-out. The COMe-cOH2 modules are based on the energy efficient AMD Embedded G-Series accelerated processing units (APUs). There are two Kontron COMe-cOH2 variants: COMe-cOH2 T44R and COMe-cOH2 T56N. The COMe-cOH2 T44R features the 1.2 GHz AMD T44R single-core APU, 512 kb cache and AMD Radeon HD6250 GPU. The COMe-cOH2 T56N features the 1.65 GHz dual-core variant AMD T56N APU, AMD Radeon HD6310 graphics core and 2 x 512 kb cache. Both modules support up to 8 GByte of DDR3 RAM via two memory sockets.
The Kontron microETXexpress-PV is a COM Express Type 2-compatible Computer-on-Module with an Intel Atom processor. The new modules will accelerate the development of cost-effective ultra-low-power embedded systems. The Kontron microETXexpress-PV Computer-on-Module supports Windows XP, XPe, Windows 7, Linux, and VxWorks. Early field test samples will be available next quarter. Series production will start in the third quarter.
Kontron introduced three new Kontron ETXexpress-PC Computer-on-Modules. The new COM Express modules feature support for the Mobile Intel GM45 Express and Mobile Intel GL40 Express chipsets. Samples of the new Kontron ETXexpress-PC Computer-on-Modules are available now. Series production will start by the end of this quarter. The new boards support Linux, VxWorks, and the Windows OS family (including Windows Vista, XP, 2000, XPe, CE and Windows 7).
