Atmel rolled out their SAMA5D3 series microprocessors. The MPUs are based on the ARM Cortex-A5 core. The Atmel SAMA5D3 MPU is shipping in a 324-ball BGA package. It is in mass production now. Prices start at less than USD $7 for 1,000-piece quantities. The new SAMA5D3 series is ideal for embedded applications in the industrial space, including factory and building automation, smart grid, medical and handheld terminals, along with consumer applications such as smart watches, outdoor GPS, DECT (digital enhanced cordless telecommunications) phones.
Artila Electronics introduced their M-606 single board computer. The M-606 SBC features a 400MHz Atmel AT91SAM9G45 ARM9 processor, 128MB DDR2 RAM, 128MB NAND Flash, 2MB DataFlash, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, four USB 2.0 hosts, three RS-232 ports, RS-422/485 port, audio, microSD socket and LCD TTL/LVDS interface. The starter kit includes a PM9G45 CPU module, baseboard and 7-inch LCD 800×480 with touchscreen and LED backlight. The Ronetix SK-PM9G45 starter kit supports Linux, WinCE and Android OS. The Embest MBC-SAM9G45 is an ARM9 module board built with the ATMEL AT91SAM9G45 embedded microprocessor. Artila Electronics introduced the Matrix-604 industrial box computer. The Matrix-604 features the ATMEL AT91SAM9G20 400MHz SoC, 64MB SDRAM, 128MB NAND Flash memory, Ethernet, RS-232/422/485, programmable digital I/O, and USB ports. WinCE 6.0 is preinstalled in the NAND Flash memory and the SDK for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is available for user’s application development.

The AT42QT101X touch controllers offer designers power consumption below 17uA for next-generation portable touch devices, including power buttons, hearing devices, consumer toys and proximity sensors.
