Microchip Technology introduced the PIC16F527 and PIC16F570 8-bit PIC microcontrollers. The devices combine the ease-of-use of a PIC MCU with low-cost analog peripherals. The new 8-bit PIC MCUs feature an on-chip dual Op Amp module, 8-bit ADC and two comparators. The Microchip PIC16F527 and PIC16F570 microcontrollers are ideal for systems that require signal conditioning and amplification to interpret analog inputs.
Microchip Technology introduced the PIC12LF1552 PIC microcontroller. It features hardware I2C support, four channel 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), and hardware Capacitive Voltage Divider (CVD) support for capacitive touch sensing. The PIC12LF1552 is the newest member of the PIC12/16F15XX 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) family. The Microchip PIC12LF1552 MCU is offered in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC, MSOP and 2x3x0.5 mm UDFN packages. It is available now for sampling and volume production.
Microchip Technology introduced the PIC16F1512/13 8-bit eXtreme low Power (XLP) Enhanced Midrange Core PIC microcontrollers. The PIC16F1512 and PIC16F1513 are available now for sampling and volume production in 28-pin SSOP, SOIC, SPDIP and 4 x 4 x 0.5 mm UQFN packages. Prices start at $0.58 each in high-volume quantities. The general-purpose MCUs are ideal for appliance, medical, consumer and automotive applications.
Microchip Technology launched the PIC16F145X, PIC18F2X/4XK50 and PIC18F97J94 microcontrollers. The new MCU families consist of 15 scalable MCUs ranging from 14 to 100 pins with up to 128 KB of Flash. The devices feature internal clock sources with the 0.25% clock accuracy necessary for USB communication, which saves up to $0.15 by eliminating the need for an external crystal. In addition, all three families are eXtreme Low Power compliant, with power consumption down to 35 µA/MHz Active and 20 nA in Sleep mode.
Microchip Technology introduced the PIC12F(HV)752 microcontrollers. The new family of 8-bit MCUs feature an integrated Complementary Output Generator (COG) peripheral, 1.75 KB of self read-write program memory, 64B of RAM, an on-chip 10-bit ADC, Capture-Compare PWM modules, high-performance comparators (down to 40ns response), and two 50 mA-capable I/O’s. The PIC12F752 microcontroller is available in 8-pin 3 mm x 3 mm DFN, PDIP and SOIC packages. The MCU is priced at $0.56 each in 10,000-unit quantities. The PIC12FHV752 is available in the same package options for $0.60 each.
Microchip Technology introduced their PIC12LF1840T48A single-chip devices. The PIC12LF1840T48A integrates an eXtreme Low Power (XLP), 8-bit PIC microcontroller with a sub-GHz RF transmitter. The Microchip PIC12LF1840T48A is optimized to run Microchip’s royalty-free KEELOQ advanced code-hopping technology. The new device family is available in a 14-pin TSSOP package. It is priced at $1.06 each in 10,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now. Volume production is expected in January.
