GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the XCR14 6U CompactPCI and XVR14 6U VME single board computers. The new SBCs are based on 2nd Generation Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge processors. The XCR14 and XVR14 features four Gigabit Ethernet ports, five USB 2.0 ports, two DVI ports, VGA, audio, two COM ports, and two on-board mezzanine expansion sites (both PCI-X PMC/PCI Express XMC). The rugged single board computers are available in five build levels, including air- and conduction cooled.
Concurrent Technologies introduced the VR 737/08x 6U OpenVPX Single Board Computer. The VR 737/08x features the Intel Core i7 32nm embedded processor, Mobile Intel QM57 Express chipset, soldered DDR3 ECC SDRAM (up to 8Gbytes), 3x Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual 1000Base-BX channels, 4x PCI Express x8 lanes (support Gen 1 and Gen 2 data rates), dual SATA300 disk interfaces, DVI-D and DVI-I graphics interfaces, 6x serial UART ports, 5x USB 2.0, and 8x GPIO. The module supports Linux, Windows, Solaris, VxWorks and QNX. The VR 737/08x board is available in VPX-REDI variants (type 1 and type 2).
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the VME-6500 6U VME Multifunction I/O Board. The VME-6500 module features eight analog input channels, eight analog output channels, 16 digital input channels and 16 digital output channels. Analog inputs are software-programmable and analog outputs feature programmable voltage and current rates. Digital input channels are capable of multiple voltages and current ranges, and feature programmable input thresholds and de-bounce times. Digital outputs support high voltage and current drivers, and are protected for short circuit, over current and over temperature conditions.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the 6U OpenVPX CUDA Starter Kit. The GE 6U CUDA Starter Kit is designed for GPGPU (general purpose computing on a graphics processing unit) technology for rugged, size/weight-constrained, deployed mission computing applications such as radar, sonar, image processing, signals intelligence and ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance). The kit is a complete, integrated, pre-tested hardware and software development environment. A 3U OpenVPX CUDA Starter Kit is also available.
Elma Bustronic introduced their new 6U VPX Load Board. The load board is designed to be compliant with ANSI/VITA mechanical and electrical connection standards. The Elma Bustronic VPX load board helps confirm the chassis meets the VITA 46/48 power specifications for VPX and aids in locating hot spots within the enclosure. The 6U VPX load card features a microcontroller-based stepped load control to 100W maximum. Go-No-Go indicators are present for 3.3V, 5V, 12V, +12V_Aux, -12V_Aux and 3.3V_Aux.
Concurrent Technologies introduced the VP 717/08x family of 6U VME boards for embedded applications. The modules support the 2.53GHz Intel Core i7-610E, 2.0GHz Intel Core i7-620LE and the 1.06GHz Intel Core i7-620UE. The boards feature up to 8 Gbytes of DDR3-1066 ECC SDRAM, dual PMC/XMC sites, and VITA 31.1 support. The VP 717/08x VME boards support Linux, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Solaris, LynxOS, VxWorks and QNX. The VP 717/08x boards areideal for CPU intensive processing applications in the defence, homeland security, industrial control, and transportation industry.
Kontron announced the VX6060 VPX computing blade for parallel data and signal processing applications. The Kontron VX6060 blade features two independently implemented Intel Core i7 processing nodes linked to a Ethernet and PCIe infrastructure. The VX6060 is ideal for intensive parallel computing workloads where a cluster of Kontron VX6060s can be used in full mesh VPX or switched OpenVPX environments. The 6U VPX board comes with EFI BIOS and supports Linux and VxWorks 6.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the G4ADSP rugged 6U VME multiprocessor. The G4ADSP delivers improved processing performance with four Freescale MPC 7448 processors operating at up to 1.4GHz; improved memory performance through the inclusion of up to 2 GBytes of DDR memory; and improved I/O performance with the incorporation of four Gigabit Ethernet channels and PCI on P0. The G4DSP quad processor is designed for demanding applications such as radar, sonar, image processing, and communications.
GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms introduced the SE 2 high performance 6U VME rugged graphics platform. The SE 2 features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor operating at up to 2.26GHz, an NVIDIA graphics processor (G72 or G73), and a 10 Gigabit Ethernet network interface card. The SE 2 is ideal for demanding graphics-intensive applications that will be deployed in harsh environments. Software support includes Wind River’s VxWorks 6.6, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Linux. The availability of OpenGL drivers under VxWorks means that certification to DO-178B is achievable.
