Kontron introduced their VX3324 3U VPX graphics board. The VX3324 features the AMD Radeon E6460 graphics processing unit (GPU). The Kontron graphics board integrates 160 cores at 600 MHz and 512 MB GDDR5 high-performance graphics memory for a 3DMark VantageP score of up to P2195. The module comes in an embedded form factor and is ideal for military and aerospace applications. The Kontron VX3324 is available now. It can be ordered as a stand-alone solution or integrated into Kontron’s rugged multi-mission ApexVX computer system.
Kontron introduced the CPS3003-SA 3U CompactPCI Serial processor board. The CPS3003-SA CPCI-S.0 features the latest third generation Intel Core i7 processors, PCI Express Gen 3.0, USB 3.0, SATA 6G and Gigabit Ethernet over backplane. The processor board is now available as a COTS component or as an application-ready platform pre-integrated in Kontron’s CompactPCI Serial systems. It is ideal for industrial automation, test and measurement equipment, transport and traffic systems, and medical and defense technology.
Extreme Engineering Solutions launched the XPedite7431 Single Board Computer. The X-ES 3U CompactPCI SBC supports 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors. The X-ES XPedite7431 features up to 8 GB of memory, 32 MB of NOR boot flash, up to 16 GB of NAND flash, two 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, HDMI/DVI-D video port, and a USB 2.0 port. X-ES XPedite7431 SBC is ideal for air-cooled industrial and communications applications, and conduction-cooled military applications.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the CRS-C2I-3VB1 embedded system. The COTS Rugged System (CRS) is designed to reduce program risk, cost and time-to-market. The application-ready CRS-C2I-3VB1 is ideal for civilian and military unmanned vehicles, manned commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, over- and underwater research vessels, ground vehicles, locomotives and oil and gas applications.
Kontron introduced the VX3042 and VX3044 3U OpenVPX single board computers. The Kontron dual-core VX3042 and quad-core VX3044 SBCs are based on the 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors. They feature eight lane PCI Express gen 3.0 and x1 PCI Express gen 2.0, 1x USB 3.0 and 4x USB 2.0. In addition, the SBCs offer native support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and PCI Express 3.0. The Kontron VX3042 and VX3044 single-board computers are available now. They are ideal for long-lifecycle applications.
Kontron launched the CP3003 3U CompactPCI processor board. The Kontron CP3003 is based on the 3rd generation Intel Core processor technology. It includes the latest dual and quad-core CPU performance that is scalable up to the 2.1 GHz Intel Core i7-3612QE processor. Low voltage and ultra-low voltage processors are also available for applications requiring lower performance and heat dissipation. Full production of the Kontron 3U CompactPCI processor board CP3003 is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. It is ideal for industrial, transportation, test and measurement, medical and military applications.
GE introduced their GRA112 3U VPX Graphics Board. The GE GRA112 features a 384-core NVIDIA Kepler architecture-based EXK107 GPU, PCI Express Gen 3 interconnect, and 2 GBytes of GDDR5 memory. The graphics board is ideal for both demanding graphical applications and GPGPU (general purpose computing on a graphics processing unit) applications like ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance), radar and sonar.
ADLINK Technology launched the cPCI-3970 Series of 3U CompactPCI PlusIO processor blades. The cPCI-3970 features quad and dual core 2nd Generation Intel Core i7/i5 processor, Intel QM67 Platform Controller Hub, up to two DisplayPort/DVI/HDMI, four serial ports, four SATA ports, five USB 2.0 ports, four GbE ports, PS/2 KB/MS, audio ports, and a PMC/XMC site for expansion. The new blades are ideal for industrial control and automation, transportation, and medical segments that require enhanced graphics capabilities, ECC memory and high speed I/O interconnects.
GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the GFG500 Gigabit Ethernet Video Processor and MCP500 Processor. The 3U OpenVPX-REDI GFG500 is ideal for demanding video processing applications and is pre-loaded with GE’s algorithms for capturing and processing multiple simultaneous video streams from Gigabit Ethernet-compliant video sources. The 3U OpenVPX-REDI MCP500 is a general purpose, many core processor platform. It is ideal for netcentric applications (ie: packet processing, intrusion detection/deep packet inspection, unified threat management, network monitoring and forensics in tactical wireline and wireless environments).
Acromag introduced the VPX4810 3U VPX carrier cards for interfacing a PMC or XMC module to a VPX computer system. The VPX4810 boards route power and interface bus signals to a plug-in mezzanine module through the VPX card slot connector. The VPX4810 features an 8-lane PCIe bus Gen 2 interface that enables rapid data throughput. The air-cooled model (0 to 70°C range) carrier cards is available for $1600. Conduction-cooled and REDI versions are also available. The Acromag VPX4810 3U VPX carrier cards are ideal for high-performance industrial, defense, scientific research, and telephony systems requiring high-speed I/O.
