RoweBots Research launched version five of the Unison Operating System. Unison royalty free licenses are free for version 4 and start at $999 for version 5. Both are immediately available. DDC-I will make their Deos safety-critical real-time operating system and OpenArbor development tool suite available for applications using AMCC’s (now AppliedMicro) PowerPC 440 core. Wind River VxWorks 6.8 Real-time Operating System

Wind River introduced version 6.8 of the VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS) for embedded systems. VxWorks 6.8 features improvements in multicore support and fundamental operating system features, decreased time-to-market while lowering costs, and improved quality for device manufacturers. VxWorks 6.8 is available now worldwide as part of VxWorks Edition 3.8.
