Gemalto announced the Cinterion Concept Board for developers. The new board helps Java developers quickly get started creating applications for the Internet of Things (IoT). According to the company, the Cinterion Concept Board is the easiest and most cost effective way for anyone with an interest in M2M and the IoT to create solutions like remotely controlling the temperature of home thermostats. The Cinterion Concept Board will be available this month and can be pre-ordered now.

Imsys introduced the Velox Java Controller. Velox is the newest member of Imsys’s Simple Network Application Platform (SNAP). Velox includes MCU, SDRAM, flash memory, 10/100 Ethernet PHY, three UARTs, SPI/I2C, RTC, eight timers, eight channel 16 bit ADC, two 16 bit DAC and a high-speed (83 MByte/s) data channel, and GPIOs. The Imsys Velox is available now with full production in the fourth quarter of this year. Estimated price in 5k quantity is around $35 depending on configuration options.
Axiomtek announced their NA-340FL network appliance. The fanless platform is based on the 1.8 GHz Intel Atom D525 dual core processor and Intel ICH8M chipset. The NA-340FL features six Gigabit Ethernet ports, DDR3 SO-DIMM memory (up to 4GB), 2.5″ SATA HDD, CFast socket, console port, two USB 2.0 ports, and a PCI Express Mini card (USB-type). Moxa introduced their MiiNePort W1 embedded serial-to-wireless module. The MiiNePort W1 embedded wireless module provides IEEE 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity to serial devices. WinSystems introduced their PXM-GIGE Gigabit Ethernet module. The PXM-GIGE is SUMIT-ISM compatible, and is designed for high-speed networking connectivity for small form factor, industrial embedded applications. The Gigabit Ethernet module supports Linux, Windows, and other x86-compatible real-time operating systems. Free drivers are available. The WinSystems PXM-GIGE board is available for $199 each.

The network appliance supports single Intel 32nm i3/i5/i7 (code name Sandy Bridge) and Intel E3-xx processors. The 2U rackmount platform is designed for network service applications. It is ideal for firewall, packet inspection, SPAM filtering, VPN, UTM, financial, and Internet services.

WinSystems introduced the PPM-GIGE-2 PC/104-Plus Dual Gigabit Ethernet Controller. The dual channel module features two Realtek RTL8110 devices. It offers self-stacking I/O expansion on PC/104, EPIC, and EBX SBCs based on the PC/104-Plus form factor. PPM-GIGE-2 is ideal for industrial embedded applications.
