The Valeo Innovation Challenge is looking for engineering students to design equipment to make cars more intelligent and intuitive between now and 2030. The deadline to submit projects is February 14, 2014.
Around 300 teams from 254 universities spanning 40 countries have signed up as of a month prior to the deadline. Prizes range up to 100,000 Euros.
On April 15, 2014, Valeo experts will name 20 teams to receive 5,000 Euros each to create a functioning prototype. The top three teams will be chosen on September 17, 2014 to present to a jury composed of Valeo Chief Executive Officer Jacques Aschenbroich, Valeo’s sensior management team, and top figures in science and design. The jury will choose the winning team, who will receive 100,000 Euros, and the second and third place teams will receive 10,000 Euros each.
Independent industrial group Valeo started this Challenge to demonstrate that R&D and innovation are their top priorities. Valeo focuses on the design, production, and sale of components, integrated systems, and modules for the automotive industry.
