GE Intelligent Platforms introduced the XVR16 6U VME rugged single board computer. The XVR16 SBC is based on the quad-core 4th generation Intel Core i7 architecture (Haswell). The GE XVR16 single board computer is available in five build versions from air-cooled to fully rugged. The SBC is ideal for ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance), sonar and radar applications.

The XVR16 SBC offers two on-board mezzanine expansion sites for enhanced system flexibility, both of which offer PMC and XMC capability. Memory resources include up to 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM, up to 64 GB NAND Flash, optional SATA hard drive, BIOS Flash and BIOS backup Flash. Extended temperature capability and a range of air and conduction cooled build levels are available.
The GE XVR16 offers existing users of the XVR14 and XVR15 significantly more processing power, graphics performance, functionality and I/O capability. The single board computer does this within the same power envelope as its predecessors, enabling simple drop in replacement.
