MSC Vertriebs GmbH introduced the MSC Q7-TI8168 embedded module. The Q7-TI8168 module is compliant with the Qseven standard 1.20. The ARM based embedded board features a Texas Instruments Integra C6A8168 processor and an ARM Cortex-A8 core. The digital signal processor in the ARM core takes over the computing intensive image processing in real-time and unloads the ARM processor. The MSC Q7-TI8168 is ideal for demanding image processing functions in industrial automation, medicine, transportation and security systems.
The MSC Q7-TI8168 module integrates the TI Integra C6A8168 processor with an ARM Cortex-A8 core with up to 3000 DMIPS and a digital signal processor (DSP). The DSP features 10 GMACS, 7.2 GFLPOS, and 32/64-bit single/double precision floating point. The integrated ARM Graphic Engine Neon supports video imaging, speech, audio codes and frameworks.
The MSC Q7-TI8168 embedded module includes five USB 2.0 hosts, USB 2.0 client, PCI Express channel, Gbit Ethernet interface, single channel LVDS, up to 1920 x 1080 pixels, and a HDMI/DVI 1.3 interface. I2C, AC97 audio and SPI interfaces are also available. User data can be stored over two SATA II channels. A memory card can be connected via SD/SDIO. The Qseven module also includes 1 GB of fast DDR3-1600 RAM and up to 8 GB of NAND flash memory.
The MSC Q7-MB-EP4 baseboard can be used to speed development of embedded systems with the ARM based MSC Q7-TI8168 Qseven module. The compact Qseven module is mounted via a proven MXM connection to the 148 x 102 mm compact baseboard. This makes it easy to thermally connect the Qseven heat spreader to a metal enclosure and provide fanless heat dissipation.
