QNX Neutrino Realtime Operating System and Momentics Tool Suite, v6.5

QNX Software Systems introduced version 6.5 of the Neutrino realtime operating system (RTOS) and the QNX Momentics Tool Suite. The latest version features support for ARM Cortex-A9 processors and Freescale Power e500MC processor cores, a Persistent Publish/Subscribe service, a variety of performance optimizations, and an enhanced toolchain that includes Eclipse CDT 6.0, GCC 4.4.2, and GDB 7.0. QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.5 and the QNX Momentics Tool Suite 6.5 will be availabile in June 2010.

QNX Neutrino RTOS, version 6.5

  • Supports symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) on ARM Cortex-A9 processors and Freescale Power e500MC processor cores
  • Support SMP on multi-core processors with up to 32 cores
  • Massive scalability for compute-intensive applications
  • Faster kernel performance under heavy memory utilization
  • High file system throughput on many platforms
  • Supports Intel advanced programmable interrupt controllers (APICs) and Intel message signaled interrupts (MSIs)
  • Expanded support for x86 boards from Advantech, Intel, and Kontron
  • Supports a new Persistent Publish/Subscribe (PPS) service

QNX Momentics Tool Suite, release 6.5

  • Comprehensive Eclipse-based IDE
  • Profiling tools that help developers gain maximum insight into system behavior
  • Support for the Eclipse platform 3.5.2, Eclipse CDT 6.0, GNU debugger (GDB) 7.0, binutils 2.20, and GNU compiler (GCC) 4.4.2
  • Optimized dynamic linking
  • Lazy linking and GNU hashing
  • Performance enhancements to its system profiler
