Mistral Multimedia Daughter Card for TI OMAP35x Evaluation Module

Mistral Solutions introduced the Multimedia Daughter Card (MDC) for the Texas Instruments (TI) OMAP35x evaluation module (EVM). The Multimedia Daughter Card is a plug-in card that supports both video and camera input in addition to a high-speed USB 2.0 port. The card plugs into the expansion connector present on the main board of the OMAP35x EVM. The latest release of the OMAP35x Digital Video Software Development Kit (DVSDK) supports the MDC features and provides a complete development environment with audio and video codecs to simplify and accelerate the development of multimedia-based devices.

Multimedia Daughter Card Features

  • Enables users to capture video, via S-Video, composite, or component inputs for processing by the OMAP3530 application processor
  • Provides a HSUSB HOST port and a camera connector to support camera input
  • Has a second set of expansion connectors for supporting the peripheral interfaces of OMAP35
  • Offers provision to support future daughter cards
