DM365 HD Video Surveillance IP Camera and H.264 DVR Reference Designs

Texas Instruments introduced reference designs for Internet Protocol (IP) cameras and digital video recorders (DVR). The reference designs feature electronic bill of materials (eBOM) of less than $40 for the IP camera and $60 for the DVR. The reference designs reduce development time from approximately 160 man months to only four months. The IP camera reference design is available for USD $795 from Appro Photoelectron. The DVR reference design is available for USD $1195 from UD Works.

DM365 IP Camera Reference Design Features

  • TI DM365-300 High Performance Integrated platform
  • Micron 5M CMOS sensor
  • H.264 video compression and triple stream
  • MPEG4 video compression and triple stream
  • Highest resolution: 1280 x 720
  • Max. composite output : 720 x 480(NTSC)/ 720 x 576(PAL)
  • Min. illumination: 0.5 lux F 1.2 (Color)
  • Min. illumination: 0.2 lux F 1.2 (B/W)
  • Support POE
  • Embedded web server
  • Supports motion detection
  • Supports the SD card for alarms & scheduled recording
  • Supports USB interface for basic network setup

H.264 DVR Reference Design Features

  • Storage of compressed input (SATA and USB)
  • Streaming of compressed input (Ethernet)
  • Local display support up to 800×600 resolution
  • Local user interface support
  • Pan, tilt and zoom camera support
  • Software: Multi-codec system allows triple stream per channel (H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG) for real-time signal processing
  • Simultaneous record (65fps at D1 or 260 fps at CIF), playback (30 fps), storage, streaming and display
  • Audio/video adjustment tools
  • Video timestamp support
  • Software Development Kit (SDK) provided for easy customization
