Posted by Ken Cheung in BSP,Microcontrollers,RTOS on Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Adeneo Embedded announced the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 and Linux 2.6 Board Support Package (BSP) for Freescale’s i.MX27 Product Development Kit. The i.MX27 PDK’s integrated modular design is engineered to enable a more efficient development process – a critical benefit for accelerating hardware and software integration. The PDK simplifies development with three separate, reusable modules that work together for streamlined software creation.

i.MX27 PDK Features

  • CPU Module
A single board computer containing the i.MX27 processor based on the powerful ARM-9 core, memories, and Freescale’s MC13783 power management IC
  • Personality Module
A peripherals board that is engineered to manage advanced end-product functionality such as touch screen capabilities, Ethernet and USB
  • Debug Module
A common interface board for virtually all existing and future PDKs, the module contains the functions necessary for software and applications development, such as serial, Ethernet, and JTAG interface

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Features

  • PQOAL compliance for the easiest adaptation to custom designs
Because of its compliance with Microsoft PQOAL (Production-Quality OEM Adaptation Layer) and PQD (Production Quality Device) specifications, Adeneo Embedded BSPs offer a cost-effective way to develop custom solutions on Freescale Chips under Windows Embedded CE with the minimal redesign. Only the portions of the BSPs handling board features need to be reviewed and redesigned and all code linked to the core CPU can be reused without modifications.
  • Fully-featured to cover all customer applications
The BSPs include the drivers for most of the peripherals integrated in i.MX27 PDK, such as USB, Display, Audio, Touch screen, Ethernet, etc…. This allows for targeting of virtually all types of custom solutions.
  • Strong reliability to warrant the best quality
Adeneo Embedded BSPs are qualified using the Windows Embedded CE official test kit and has been designed to take full advantage of the advanced features of the i.MX27 PDK such as Multimedia and Communications performance.
