Nokia Acquires Symbian
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) announced that it has completed its offer to acquire Symbian Limited. All conditions to Nokia’s offer to acquire Symbian Limited have been satisfied and it has received valid acceptance of greater than 99.9% of the total Symbian shares that Nokia did not already own. Symbian is the software company that develops and licenses Symbian OS, the market-leading open operating system for mobile devices.

Sierra Wireless to Acquire Wavecom
Sierra Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWIR – TSX: SW) (“Sierra Wireless”) and Wavecom S.A. (Paris: AVM – NASDAQ: WVCM) (“Wavecom”) announced that the companies have reached a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) providing for a business combination that will bring together these two industry innovators to form a global leader in wireless data. Sierra Wireless will make a cash offer of (euro)8.50 per ordinary share of Wavecom, and (euro)31.93 per OCEANE convertible bond (“OCEANEs”), amounting to an aggregate purchase price of approximately (euro)218 million.

e-con Systems Introduces e-CAM 3.2 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor
Adding to it’s existing line of Camera Solutions, e-con announced the availability of 3 Megapixel camera sensor with e-CAM – the widely known Plug and Play camera solution for embedded platforms. The 3 Mega pixel camera module is based on Omnivision OV3640 sensor. Capturing pictures at low light conditions require longer exposure times and hence there could be problems in holding the camera still.

CSR Unveils RoadRunner2 Bluetooth In-car Hands-free Kit
CSR (LSE:CSR) announced the launch of RoadRunner2, the second in its highly successful range of designs for Bluetooth in-car hands-free kits. RoadRunner2 is a generic development platform based on CSR’s BlueCore5-Multimedia Bluetooth silicon, and allows OEMs to develop a highly customisable and feature rich hands-free kit, with minimal time-to-market. Releases Common Debug API Specification, the organization that promotes and develops standards for Power Architecture® technology, announced the release of Version 1.0 of the[tm] Common Debug API Specification. The Common Debug Application Programming Interface (API) Specification will simplify the debugging process by establishing common ground in communication protocols between development tools and embedded devices.
