Synopsys Acquires CHIPit Business Unit from ProDesign
Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the CHIPit business unit of ProDesign, a leading provider of high-speed ASIC and System-on-Chip (SoC) verification systems. The acquisition of complementary talent, technology and products expands Synopsys’ total addressable market by addressing the needs of customers who want to deploy more automated prototypes with additional co-verification features.

Agilent, Quantum Data Team on DisplayPort Test Automation
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) and Quantum Data Inc. announced a jointly developed DisplayPort test solution that fully automates physical layer testing of the DisplayPort main link for sink- and source-device testing. The new Agilent W2642A AUX Channel Controller enables engineers to control a device under test through the DisplayPort connector only. Separate proprietary software for back-channel control of each test device is no longer required.

MagnaChip Announces Advanced Bipolar CMOS-DMOS Technology Conference
