WinSystems Introduces LPM-LX800-G STD Bus Single Board Computer
WinSystems introduced the LPM-LX800-G a high-integration STD Bus single board computer (SBC) based on AMD’s LX800 CPU. This board provides both an upward performance migration path and a continued source of supply for STD Bus SBCs. The IEEE 961 STD Bus was first introduced in 1978 and is still in use by key industrial customers. The LPM-LX800 supports Windows® XP embedded, Linux, and other x86 RTOSes while offering long-term availability.

American Portwell Unveils WADE-8070 Mini-ITX Embedded System Board
American Portwell Technology, Inc. has designed and developed the WADE-8070. Built with the Intel “Navy Pier” platform, the new WADE-8070 is an Intel Atom(tm) N270 processor and 945GSE/ICH7-M mobile chipset-based Mini-ITX embedded system board with multiple video interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), two SATA ports, four COM ports and six USB ports that provides low power consumption in a true fanless configuration.

National Instruments Rolls Out NI VXIpc-882 VXI Embedded Controller
National Instruments introduced the NI VXIpc-882, a two-slot VXI embedded controller featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7400. As the industry’s highest-performing VXI embedded controller, the VXIpc-882 delivers much faster processing capabilities than typical single-core controllers. Additionally, by combining the controller with the multicore support of NI LabVIEW 8.6 graphical programming software, engineers can create superior-performance VXI systems.

NEC Develops XBridge SoC for Stream Processing
NEC Electronics and NEC Central Research Laboratories have jointly developed the XBridge (pronounced “cross bridge”) system on a chip (SoC). The XBridge efficiently processes large volumes of image, audio, network packet, and other streaming data, a task which conventional central processing units (CPUs) have performed poorly. NEC Electronics has successfully created a XBridge evaluation board and development tools.
