Qualcomm Announces New Dual-CPU Snapdragon Single-Chip Solution
Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) announced a new dual-CPU Snapdragon[tm] single-chip solution that extends the reach of the Snapdragon platform by targeting more advanced mobile computing devices. The QSD8672[tm] chip features two computing cores capable of up to 1.5GHz for greater processing capabilities, in addition to optimized battery life and a full range of 3G mobile broadband and peripheral connectivity capabilities found on all Snapdragon chipsets.

NEC Extracts Circuit Characteristics with Mentor Graphics Calibre nmLVS
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT) announced that NEC Electronics Corporation (Kanagawa, Japan) has selected the Calibre® nmLVS product to establish a highly accurate circuit characterization flow for 40nm and below. The Calibre nmLVS verification tool has been enhanced and upgraded for nanometer large-scale integrated circuits (LSI) with new features including advanced device parameter (ADP) extraction to enable customer-specific circuit characterization.

Tagged Adopts eXtremeDB-64 In-memory Database Management System
Tagged social networking site has adopted the eXtremeDB[tm]-64 in-memory database management system (DBMS) from McObject® as cache for its commonly accessed Web data. In Tagged’s implementation, McObject’s 64-bit DBMS will host up to 100GB of user data in RAM to support features that help people meet and socialize, while also ensuring continuous operation and data consistency through its data persistence features.
