6WIND, a leading provider of embedded software solutions to simplify networking and application development within multicore processor based equipment, announced that in a strategic collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor it has successfully ported its 6WINGGate[tm] embedded networking software suite to a simulation environment based on Freescale Semiconductor’s QorIQ[tm] P4080 multicore chip.

Micrium Ports Embedded Systems Software to ARM Cortex Processors
Micrium, a leading provider of high-quality embedded software components, announced that nearly all of its embedded software products have been ported to the ARM® Cortex[tm]-M1 and Cortex-M3 processors. Compatible offerings now include uC/OS-II (complete with the recently introduced memory protection unit (MPU) package), uC/TCP-IP, uC/USB and uC/FS.

Macraigor Systems Ports On-Chip Debug Technology to ARM Cortex-M3
Macraigor Systems LLC has ported their proprietary On-Chip Debug Technology (OCDemon) to the ARM Cortex-M3 processors and is now offering full GNU toolsets to be used with these processors and Macraigor Systems interfaces. Engineers developing applications for these new processors can control and debug their hardware designs and application software without the use of other system resources such as UARTs, Ethernet channels, or parallel ports.

Kozio Rolls Out Latest Version of SequenceRunner Test Tool
Kozio®, Inc., leading provider of embedded circuit board functional test, announced the latest release of its test automation tool for volume testing of processor-based circuit boards. Leading technology companies in the electronics industry use Kozio’s embedded test platform to reduce their cost of end-of-line manufacturing test while gaining the confidence to ship.

TSMC Selects Calibre Equation-Based DRC for Physical Verification
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that TSMC and Mentor Graphics collaborated on physical verification (PV) solutions leveraging a new feature of the Calibre® nmDRC product called “Equation-Based DRC.” Equation-Based DRC allows users to check and correct issues that are very difficult to perform today with classic DRC methods. Continuous multi-dimensional (2D, 3D) functions allow integrated circuit (IC) developers to implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) functionality directly within their PV flows.

Achronix Semiconductor Selects ViASIC ViaPath Place, Route Software
Achronix Semiconductor Corp. selected ViASIC’s ViaPath[tm] place and route software for use in its Achronix CAD environment (ACE). ViASIC believes ViaPath is the only commercially available tool that can perform optimization, placement and routing for standard metal (one-mask or two-mask) programmable designs. The principles used in ViaPath are equally effective for structured ASICs and synchronous or asynchronous RAM-based FPGAs, resulting in a correct-by-construction finished IC design that meets all design closure requirements.
