RPM MPQ-PSoC In-System Programmer Supports Cypress Programmable Devices
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE: CY) announced RPM Systems Corp. offers production programming support for Cypress’s PSoC® Programmable System-on-Chip family. RPM’s MPQ-PSoC 4 Port In-System Programmer (ISP) simplifies programming of four PSoC devices simultaneously, and multiple units can be linked to program up to 64 devices. The MPQ-PSoC ISP has passed Cypress’s qualification process, ensuring it meets Cypress’s third-party programming support standards.

TDK Develops 1608-Size, High Attenuation Bandpass Filter
TDK Corporation announced that it developed and began mass-producing in September a multilayer bandpass filter for 2.4 GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth use that achieves same low-loss and high-attenuation characteristics of earlier products despite its 1608 size and 0.55 mm thickness, making it about 40% smaller in volume.

Gleichmann Announces NEC 78K0R/Kx3-L 16-bit Flash Microcontrollers
The 22 new 16-bit All Flash microcontrollers of the 78K0R/Kx3-L series from NEC Electronics (Distribution: Gleichmann Electronics) feature ultra-low power and high performance. First samples will be available at the end of September 2008. Recent measurements resulted in a current consumption of just 0.52 mA/MIPS at 20 MHz clock frequency. The dedicated real-time clock function requires only 1.0 µA in standby operation. At the same time, a performance of 0.65 DMIPS/MHz (Dhrystone 1.1) was determined.
