IBM, NEC Team on Next-Generation Semiconductor Process Technology
IBM Corporation (NYSE:IBM) and NEC Electronics Corporation (TSE:6723) announced they have entered into a multi-year joint development agreement under which they will develop next-generation semiconductor process technology. Under the agreement, NEC Electronics will participate in a joint development project for the next-generation core CMOS process, at the 32-nm node, and in advanced fundamental research for leading-edge semiconductor technologies of the future.
Lanner Electronics Rolls Out FW-8750 Network Appliance Platform
Lanner Electronics announced the launch of the latest product in its line of network appliance platforms and the first to support four-core Intel® Core[TM] 2 Quad CPUs – the FW-8750. The Lanner FW-8750 uses the Intel Q35 Express chipset and LGA 775 socket to support Core 2 Quad CPUs up to 3.16 GHz, providing faster, cooler and lower power operation for CPU-intensive network applications.
