Cypress Announces PSoC Innovator Design Challenge India
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) announced the PSoC® Innovator Design Challenge India, a multi-discipline design contest open to engineering students in India. Recognizing the growth of engineering talent in India, the Design Challenge will require students to stretch their imaginations to develop novel ways to utilize Cypress’s PSoC technology. PSoC, a Programmable System on Chip, allows designers to customize microcontroller chips using visual design software on their PCs.

RidgeRun Supports TI OMAP35x, TMS320DM355 Processors
RidgeRun, an embedded solutions provider specializing in Linux, announced support services for Texas Instruments’ (TI’s) open-source offerings, specifically its new line of OMAP35x applications processors. RidgeRun further announced embedded software development kits (SDKs) with Linux kernels and drivers, complete reference applications and libraries with expert engineering services for TI’s open source offerings.

MagnaChip Introduces TA7601 a-Si TFT Chip for Smart Phones
MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd. announced the launch of its a-Si TFT (Thin Film Transistor) chip, the TA7601, for use in smart phones. The TA7601 is a single chip driver IC that is designed for HVGA (320RGB x 480) LCD displays, provides 262,144 colors, has a 2.76Mbit SRAM for frame memory and supports SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface), Parallel Interface (i80 compatible), and RGB Interface.
