ESC Boston Features Build Your Own Embedded System Program
TechInsights announced that it will feature the Build Your Own Embedded System (BYOES) Program at its Embedded Systems Conference Boston. The BYOES program allows attendees to build and take home a fully configured embedded system based on a development kit which they receive for free as part of their All-Access or Five-Day Pass. Attendees will be able to choose from two programming kits, including one produced by iBase and a second kit based on the recently launched Beagle Board.

The audio subsystem is highly flexible, enabling customers to choose different input-to-output configurations and program design parameters to optimize audio performance.

RTI, Lockheed Martin Team on Messaging Middleware for NI LabVIEW
Lockheed Martin’s Maritime Security & Ship Systems business and Real-Time Innovations (RTI) announced a joint effort to provide a high-performance, low-latency messaging middleware solution for National Instruments LabVIEW applications. With Lockheed Martin’s Middleware Adapter to RTI Data Distribution Service, system designers and application developers using LabVIEW programming can incorporate low-latency messaging middleware into their designs as visual components ready to connect to other LabVIEW components.

SEMATECH Announces 22nm Chemically Amplified EUV Resist Platforms
SEMATECH engineers, working closely with researchers from major resist suppliers, have demonstrated chemically amplified EUV resist (CAR) platforms that support 22 nm half-pitch resolution and are close to resolving sub 20 nm half-pitch features. These significant advances are critical in moving forward the infrastructure that will prepare extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) for high volume manufacturing at 22 nm half-pitch.

RF Engines Creates SpectraChip IF Design for LIG Nex1 Spectrum Analyzer
RF Engines Limited (RFEL), the UK-based signal processing on FPGA specialist, have completed the delivery of their latest designs for LIG Nex1′s latest spectrum analyser instrument. RFEL have been working with LIG Nex1 of Korea for a number of years, and have most recently supplied an advanced SpectraChip[TM] IF design that effectively is a digital replacement for the analogue intermediate frequency (IF) filtering section of LIG Nex1′s latest instrument.

Xilinx to Showcase PCI Express Solutions at Intel Developer Forum

TSMC Adopts Mentor Graphics Eldo Analog Simulation Tool

(TSMC) has selected Mentor’s Eldo® analog simulation tool to characterize cells in its 40 nanometer (nm) standard cell libraries. “TSMC is committed to offering high quality, silicon-proven standard cell libraries to enable customers to design at 40nm technologies,” said ST Juang, senior director of design infrastructure marketing division, TSMC.
