Mentor Graphics Rolls Out 2008.1 Release of CHS Design Software
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that the 2008.1 release of Mentor’s CHS design software, available this week, provides electrical simulation functionality inherently within the core Capital Logic and Capital Integrator tools. Previously purchasable as additional modules, both qualitative (behavioral) and numerical simulation is now included within the core tools at no extra cost.

GE Fanuc Integrates Embedded Computing Solutions with SprayCool Chassis
GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms announced that it had signed an agreement with SprayCool (formerly Isothermal Systems Research) of Liberty Lake, Washington. The agreement enables GE Fanuc to act as a supplier of fully integrated subsystems that include GE Fanuc’s COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) embedded computing solutions within a SprayCool chassis.

Pentek Announces 7141-420, 7141-430 Software Radio PMC Modules
Pentek announced a new family of rugged software radio modules with two of Pentek’s leading-edge, GateFlow® FPGA IP cores installed on its recently-introduced 7141 Dual Channel 125 MHz 14-bit A/D and 500 MHz 16-bit D/A Transceiver. As an added benefit, because the IP cores are pre-installed by Pentek, the end user is completely free from any FPGA development tasks.

Actel Acquires Pigeon Point Systems
Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL) announced that it has acquired Pigeon Point Systems. By acquiring the leading provider of TCA management components, Actel now offers a comprehensive solution for proprietary and standards-based system management implementations in the industrial, military, telecommunications, and medical markets. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

VMETRO Ships Helicopter Data Storage System to Telephonics
VMETRO has shipped data recording solutions to the Radar Systems Division of Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), for the US Navy MH-60R Multi-Mode Automatic Radar Periscope Detection and Discriminator (ARPDD) program. The data recording solutions are based on VMETRO’s Vortex Open Data Recording platform and SANbric rugged rotating media storage device.
