Ampro Computers Rolls Out ReadyBoard 830 EPIC Single Board Computer
Ampro Computers Inc., an ADLINK Technology company, announced availability of the ReadyBoard[tm] 830 single board computer based on Intel’s dual core processors and GME945 chipset. The ReadyBoard 830 integrates a single- or dual-core processor, RAM, graphics, networking and robust I/O in a small form factor suitable for applications that require high performance like gaming, digital signage, video surveillance, and medical imaging applications.

TranSwitch Acquires Centillium Communications
TranSwitch® Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC) announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Centillium Communications, Inc. (“Centillium”) (Nasdaq:CTLM). With this acquisition, TranSwitch will further diversify its product portfolio to include rapidly growing Fiber-to-the-Home (“FTTH”) and Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (“VoIP”) solutions.

Texas Instruments Announces North America Power Seminars
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) has announced the North America schedule for its 2008 Power Supply Design Seminar series. TI’s leading power management gurus will conduct one-day seminars in 34 cities in the United States and Canada beginning Sept. 10, 2008.

STMicroelectronics STP24DP05 RGB LED Driver Powers Eight Pixels
By providing 24 constant-current outputs capable of driving RGB LEDs at up to 80mA, the STP24DP05 from STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) performs the work of three conventional 8-output drivers within a compact TQFP48, 7 x 7mm footprint. Using this device to drive video displays and signage comprising large numbers of high-brightness LEDs saves bill-of-materials costs compared to conventional devices with fewer outputs.

Teradyne Announces UltraPin800 High Density Digital Instrument
Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) introduced the new UltraPin800[tm] high density digital instrument, which extends the parallel test efficiency of the UltraFLEX[tm] test system. With twice as many pins than the previous generation product, the 128-digital pin instrument supports full test capability up to 800Mbps. In the first three months of production, the UltraPin800 has been used by multiple customers for RF SOC, optical disk drive, digital television, graphics processor and audio processor applications.

Three Japanese Design Services Companies Join Power Forward Initiative
The Power Forward Initiative (PFI) announced that three Japanese design services companies joined the initiative and are offering Common Power Format (CPF)-enabled low-power design capabilities to their design services customers. With the addition of these three Japanese design centers — NIPPON SYSTEMWARE CO., LTD. (NSW), Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) and Toppan Technical Design Center Co., Ltd. — the PFI increases its membership to over 30 companies around the world.

Kawasaki Microelectronics Licenses MIPS Cores for ASIC IP Portfolio
MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NasdaqGS: MIPS) announced that Kawasaki Microelectronics (K-micro), a leader in advanced ASICs, licensed multiple MIPS® cores for its ASIC IP portfolio. The synthesizable cores, including MIPS Technologies’ highest-performance single-threaded core and its multi-threaded core, will enable K-micro to offer a range of optimized solutions to its customers in office automation, networking, and other key markets.
